A very nice Alaskan cabin. Easily fit myself and two friends while in the area for some fishing and exploring. The hot tub was great, especially after getting beat up in a chartered halibut boat for several hours. A cow moose and her two calves made an appearance for us, as if right on cue. Mike and his wife(?) were helpful in suggesting fishing alternatives, were friendly and available if we'd needed anything (we didn't.) The cabin is very clean, comfortable and full of interesting Alaskan items. The kitchen is perfectly stocked with utensils, spices, etc, making meal preparation easy. Glad to have the freezer as it kept us from having to find somewhere to store our halibut for a couple of days. I would recommend this property to anyone staying in the area.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here! A beautiful rustic cabin built by the owner Mike with all the amenities you could need. The pictures dont do it justice as its 10x better in person! The cabin is right on the Moose river, an absolutely beautiful setting with views from the living room, hot tub, and back porch. Its also a great location for all of the recreation the upper peninsula has to offer. I highly recommend staying here!

We stayed 4 nights at this rustic, spacious, well-stocked cabin on the Moose River. We loved the quiet location, yet still convenient to the owner's house nearby. The cabin has a rustic unfinished wood interior with decor similar to a hunting/fishing lodge with moose and caribou antlers. There is loads of storage space! And a state of the art super large washer and dryer are provided. I could almost fit two normal loads of wash in that one washing machine! The kitchen is so well stocked (even lots of rolls of paper towels) with a full sized refrigerator, gas stove/oven, microwave, coffee maker and lots of coffee, both regular and decaf. We prepared all our breakfasts, packed all our lunches each day, and made all our dinners at the cabin. A huge Fred Myers grocery/super store is 13 miles away. I must say there is a slightly funky smell (from the well water) to the water in the bathroom sink, shower, and kitchen sink. But there is a special faucet in the kitchen with good smelling filtered water. The bathroom is really spacious with a full tub/shower, loads of towels, and toiletries. We never did use the hot tub, so cannot tell about our experience with that. Every day we would leave for a different outing: Day One we hiked Russian River Falls Trail to see the spawning salmon and then visited Kenai (where we saw 3 caribou along the Bridge Access Road) and Soldotna (really enjoyed seeing the world record size King salmon in the Soldotna Visitor's Center). Day Two we spent all day driving to Homer, stopping at sights along the way. Day Three we drove the Skilak Lake Road, hiked the Hideout Trail with its spectacular views of the Kenai River, Skilak Lake, and the surrounding mountains, and then hiked the Lower (East) Kenai River Trail to see the Kenai River Canyon. And every night, back at our cabin, we had a great night's sleep with the windows wide open. Loved our stay on the Moose River!
