We had a lovely stay at Milo’s! We were in room 4 and it was great - the bathroom was surprisingly large. The room is at the top of the stairs, so we did hear everyone who went by (and some people telling/babies crying in the middle of the night) but that was clear from the description and we appreciated the ear plugs. The best part was the location - we went to the bar downstairs, and nearby Thomas and Blackwater Falls. As long as you don’t need a soundproof room or TV, this is perfect.

Bright Morning Inn was an incredible experience! The room was clean and tentive! I was worried due to the owner saying it can be loud with the bar/restruant below- however it is not at all! Milos bar closes at 9p and even with a band below it wasn't loud enough to were we couldn't sleep. My husband and I stayed in room8 and it was so comfy! The owner, Alison has been amazing throughout the experience and answered any questions honestly. She also sent an email with instructions on check in and an email first thing the next morning to see how all was going. If you are passing through town, this is a great place to stay!

We've been coming to Bright Morning for nearly 25 years. New ownership redecorated and expanded the restaurant and added a bar. They serve a great breakfast which USED TO be included in the price of the lodging. This fact is not communicated on the website. ||Also when we arrived to check in, the snow in the parking lot was never cleared and it turned into a sheet of ice. No salt or sand was applied making it a pretty treacherous walk with luggage. The rooms are fine, nicely decorated and comfortable beds. Food is good and the bar is lively. ||It used to be a great little inexpensive place to stay, but it's lost a place in our hearts. The service has gone downhill and there is really no way to get in touch unless you call the emergency number. I have made several calls and emails due to some items we left in our room and have yet to get a return call or email several days after contact. There are better options around Canaan Valley & Davis.

This Inn not only met my expectations but exceeded them as well. The pictures are exactly what you have in the room. The rooms are clean. We had room 8. The bed and pillows were so comfortable, just as comfortable as our bed at home. While we don't come to Davis often, I will stay here again when we do.

I really wanted to like this place since I like supporting local businesses. However, our experience at Bright Morning was really bad. Firstly, after literally dozens of attempt to contact the hotel to advise them of a change to our reservation no one ever picked up the phone. Secondly, while staying there in the middle of winter for some skiing and there was NO HOT WATER. We told the manager about this and he said he'd look into it. Third, the next morning when again attempting to take a shower there was NO WATER AT ALL! Another guest in the parking lot said it was the same for him. Fourth, as noted in other reviews, noise in rooms from the bar downstairs is loud, but the inn does a really good job of providing lots of earplugs! Conclusion... very poor management, and I've had far better accommodations while camping.

Bright Morning Inn is the best dog friendly hotel in Canaan valley and beyond. Cozy, stylishly decorated rooms sit on top of a great restaurant with the inside and outside seating. The owner has created a wonderful place with the best food, perfect room decor and beautifully landscaped garden. The owner has amazing taste that shows both in food offerings at the Milo’s restaurant and the best artists he attracts to provide live music. You can’t beat the location - right in the center of Davis - next to the restaurants, microbreweries, shops, waterfalls and hikes. We stayed in many places around Davis. Bright Morning Inn is definitely our favorite. We would live there if we could. Meanwhile, we just keep coming back!

We booked this Inn for two nights. However, when we got there at 4:30 pm our room (room 7) had the window open and the air conditioning unit had a error on it. We noticed another room had the window open as well. When I reported the issue to the manager (Kelsey who arrived on site at 5 pm) she acted like she did not know and called a service man. How could she not know? Wouldn't housekeeping tell her when they cleaned the rooms and opened the windows? All rooms are upstairs as you would expect. She offered us something to drink while we waited for the air conditioning service man to arrive to repair the issue. I had a mojito. It was bitter, strong lime, little mint, and not sweet at all - while we waited. Once the service man was done (this all took two hours) I over heard him say the filter needed changed. I was tired and just wanted to go to our room so we went out back to our car to get our luggage. When we stepped out the back door we were hit in the face with the smell of skunk weed. As we rounded the corner there were two employees smoking a bong in an out building just outside the kitchen. That was enough for me. After letting the manager know she refunded us for the second night we had already booked.||My husband took a shower before bed only to get scalded with hot water when someone flushed a toilet in another room.||The next morning both my husband and myself had stiff lower backs from sleeping in their king size bed. We went down for breakfast (also paid for in advance) to be told they had staffing issues and that there was no breakfast available that morning. || The stair case is narrow and very steep to climb. There was no attendant at night, no sprinker system (or fire supression system) in case of fire. . Our ceiling fan, although quiet, only had three (should have had four) blades. Narrow hallway, one way in or out. Safety was an issue for both of us||I'm still waiting on a refund for the breakfast we never recieved. The food they were serving for dinner that night looked good but we didn't have any of their fare as the mojito was aweful. We didn't feel safe staying there.

I had a breakfast scramble/bowl. It was tasty and well-prepared. The menu is a little small... no omelets, but that makes sense as it is a small place. This is my go-to breakfast place in the area. I did not stay overnight here as I was camping nearby.
