Everything during our stay at the Mendenhall 1884 Inn was perfect! My fiancee and I wanted to get out of town for a cute, quiet weekend away. We ended up finding the Mendenhall online where it already had spectacular reviews. I just wanted to further add that everything said is correct. Greg and Claire manage a fantastic bed and breakfast. The rooms are immaculate, with some of the softest beds and linens I've ever had at any sort of hotel. The rooms were perfect and cozy. So essentially the bed part of the bed and breakfast was out of this world. The breakfast part was somehow even better. Each day we sat down an amazing meal to start our day. I attached pictures because words cannot do these dishes Justice. One day was more sweet and one day it was more savory and both were perfect. Everything about our stay was handled so perfectly by Greg and Claire. We felt welcomed and like family. Honestly nothing more could have been done to make our stay there any better. Greg and Claire nailed it out at the park and we're so looking forward to come back in the future, as the town as a whole was such a great getaway.

This was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast, and it exceeded our expectations! Greg and Claire were lovely hosts and very accommodating to our schedule. The house is beautiful and full of history. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return!

This was our first experience at Berkeley Springs and a Bed and Breakfast, and Claire and Greg set the bar for all future endeavors. Each morning began with great conversation and a gourmet home cooked breakfast, before exploring the wonderful small town of Berkeley. Our hosts take great pride in the small details of your stay, and are a wealth of knowledge of the town both past and present. We couldn't ask for a better and more relaxing weekend, and consider ourselves part of the Mendenhall 1884 family. We will be apart of their multitude of return guests.

Elegant B& B with a “classy touch of charm” and EXCEPTIONAL HOSPITALITY from owner/operators Claire & Greg who went above & beyond- delicious breakfasts, candy & snacks available. Claire even made me homemade chocolate chip cookies as I mentioned a craving for them! Bedrooms with lovely deco, comfy beds & pillows. B& B location is walkable throughout the charming town of Berkeley Springs & very close to Chesapeake & OH Bike Path in Hancock. Definitely an educational experience learning “all about the water” & especially “enjoyed the baths!”

A big thank you to Greg and Claire for making us feel like royalty at their beautiful bed and breakfast. Every detail was carefully planned, and the innkeepers were incredibly attentive. Berkeley Springs is such a charming town, and the local restaurants are just as delightful. We had a wonderful weekend at Mendenhall and can’t wait to book another stay very soon.

My husband and I stayed at the Medenhall for a winter week-end getaway in early February. We loved the Inn and our private courtyard room. It was definitely cozy but very comfortable with an exposed brick wall and lots of nice extra touches. The historic Inn property is located right in the downtown but a block back from the main street so easy access to everything from a nice and quiet stay. Claire and Greg were wonderful hosts! The breakfasts were fabulous and we enjoyed chatting with them and the other guests at a happy hour that turned into a dinner. We definitely plan to visit again!

Believe the reviews, Claire and Greg are simply wonderful! They are the ideal hosts: friendly, helpful, thoughtful, and sweet. Claire makes amazing breakfasts. She even made a special breakfast for my wife’s dietary restrictions. She said it was the best gluten-free and nondairy breakfast she’s ever had. Greg also truly makes you feel welcome each morning. They are a great team. This was the best BNB experience we’ve ever had!

Upon arrival on a snowy evening, Greg greeted us and carried our luggage to our cozy room. Clare and Greg set up an impromptu candlelight dinner. While we ate, they told us about many attractions in the quaint town of Berkeley Springs. The next three mornings we were treated to Clare’s creative gourmet breakfasts. We felt special because we were the only guests for the first two nights. By the end of our time there, we felt like old friends and we look forward to visiting them again.
