McMenamins White Eagle Saloon is such a gem! The place is beautiful, eclectic, and full of character it’s got that perfect mix of history and cool vibes. I came out to support a friend’s concert and was blown away by the atmosphere. The sound was great, the crowd was fun, and the staff made the whole experience feel effortless. My go-to order: the sliders and Cajun tots (a must!), and their sangria was absolute perfection. Can’t wait to come back!

A really nice, out of the way hang out. I love the spooky history and the cozy layout of the place. The bartender who was there the day I took my young son before a sporting event, made him a special drink and was extremely cool and helpful.

Located out of the way from most everything, the White Eagle is a cozy little place. We stayed for the McMenamins experience and were delighted to find they have live music every night. The man who checked us in was friendly and informative, letting us know the quaint intricacies of the property. With a live event bringing in a packed house, he held down the fort as the only bartender.

The room was small and cozy, as I image is the same for the 11 room hotel. The only downfall for us was we couldn’t adjust the thermostat as it was locked. (Maybe bring a fan if you run hot).

The property/restaurant doesn’t open until 11am, which is time of check out, so I recommend getting stamps, merch, etc upon check in. With that, there was a small coffee table in the hotel hallway, but we learned about it AFTER we walked up the street to a GREAT bagel place.

There’s also an awesome brewery half-mile walk from the property.

The White Eagle is a landmark. I have driven by it countless times and consider it a feature of the community. I have enjoyed learning about its history with the ship building workers and the troller line that ran up the road to drop off tired workers. But, so how I had not been inside!! As a McMenamins fan, I tend to lump the locations together in my mind, but the White Eagle is different!!
As we entered, we quickly discovered that we were in attendance during a concert. Dan Rodriguez was performing to a very small crowd. We bought tickets at the door and got seats perpendicular to the bar. All the staff was so kind and inviting. The decor and cleanliness is top-notch. The high ceilings make it feel big, but the brick And lighting make it feel quant. I highly recommend this location as a stop on a date night or for a small concert venue.
As per usual at a McMenamins, the patio is killer.

We saw live music here and it was really fun! It's an intimate space with a good vibe. This location is way better than the genaric McMenamins restaurants but I do think they serve the same food options.

I suppose it wouldn’t be fair to rate this place on the show we attempted to see.
Though it didn’t seem very good either.

We had bought tickets in advance online and you would think that would reserve you a spot in the main viewing area. But it didn’t. We did arrive about 15 mins past showtime start. The only seating was towards the back where the show was not.

The hostess was really friendly but bar tender wasn’t and acted like he didn’t have the time of day for customers.
I had inquired about shirts he briefly answered a couple of questions, and asked to see them and got ignored. He was not busy at this time or I would have understood needing to help others.
The hostess didn’t have access to the case or shirts.
Myself and partner each got a drink. Neither of which tasted like they had any alcohol in them. My partner even asked to make sure we had gotten the right drinks.
We stayed for maybe 15 minutes and decided not to bother giving this establishment any more of our money and went to Quarterworld instead for a better time and better drinks.

Stayed x2 nights and loved it: typical of McMenamins properties. Our view was of overlapping freeways and heard a few sirens go by on the way to nearby hospital, but centrally located. Our room was comfortable with the historical charm of a saloon more than 100 years old. It was quiet on the first night and could hear the music from downstairs the second night.

Service downstairs was quick and friendly. Patrons also very friendly. Felt like everyone there was already a friend, which is great because it was packed when the band was playing. Loved the courtyard with the firepit.

Rooms not ADA accessible.
Children welcome in the hotel at all times and in the saloon until 8pm.
Arrive early to secure one of the scarce parking spaces or park in the next street over.

Great, old hotel at a great price. Rooms are clean and quaint. Close to the Moda Center and perfect place to stay over after a concert. The restaurant and bar are fun with great performances. I didn’t witness any paranormal activity but maybe next visit.
