My husband and I stayed at Swift Creek Cabin for 3 nights, and we had the best time. The cabin was clean, cozy, and well-appointed. There was plenty of water provided, and the hot shower after days of hiking and exploring felt amazing. The views were spectacular, and the only noise was from the creek and other nature. Denise was a wonderful host - she provided great recommendations for what to do and where to eat. Being able to drive to the cabin was perfect, and it was a short drive to the foot bridge for the visits to McCarthy and Kennecott. Our trip was the perfect amount of time to do 12+ miles of hiking (including Root Glacier) and the Kennecott Mill tour. If you are sensitive to light, pack a sleeping mask - there is a skylight which is great during the day. (I always have mine with me in AK during spring/summer.) If we are back in the area, we will definitely stay again!

We had a wonderful two-night stay in the Meadow cabin in McCarthy. The booking process was quick and easy, and Denise gave us a warm welcome upon arrival.

We had a fully equipped kitchen and the cabin is very cozy. We appreciated the thoughtful touches.

The shower room and outhouse are clean and convenient. The location of the cabin is perfect, and just a short drive from town.

We enjoyed our stay here and will come back again to explore more of the area in the future. Thank you!

We stayed two nights in the Bluff cabin with friends. It had a great view and lots of privacy, was impeccably clean, and had everything we needed for a great stay. The shower house was fantastic—a real treat in McCarthy! The cabin felt bigger than I had anticipated, and the big front porch is a perfect spot to relax at the end of a long day of hiking.

Denise was super welcoming and is a great host. This is my favorite place I've stayed in the McCarthy/Kennicott area.

The Bluff cabin was perfect for our family’s stay during our visit to McCarthy/Kennicott. Denise was super accommodating, kind, and communicative. The cabin was very clean, and was comfortable for 6. We liked how close it was to town and it was nice to come back to the cabin and light the wood burning stove after a day of hiking in the rain. I would highly recommend Denise and the Bluff cabin! We had a great experience!

Denise was an incredible host! The cabin was beautiful, offering running water and a clean shower. We stayed in the Bluff cabin and the scenery was just beautiful. The cabin was very clean, and had everything we needed to stay comfortably. The cabin is just a short drive to the footbridge to McCarthy/Kennicott.
Will definitely stay here again when we visit Alaska again, and would recommend this cabin to anyone looking to stay in the area.

The Bluff Cabin was perfect for us! My friends from Oregon and I staid with Denise in Aug 2022. The cabin is just what a cabin should be, cozy and quiet. It was spotless and had everything we needed. Within the 2nd hour we were there we had a bear come through munching on dandelions and gave us a wonderful show, then the encore was a moose. The views are fantastic and Denise is so knowledgeable about the area and it's history. I highly recommend a stay here or Camp McCarthy.

Would stay here again in a heartbeat! My husband and I stayed in The Meadow cabin. It was perfectly cozy and isolated and quiet. It's so private that the outhouse door has a big window looking out and no shade is needed. Speaking of which, as I've seen other reviewers say, it is the nicest outhouse I've ever seen. The shower is also part of the outhouse building (one building, two separate rooms with separate doors), and it's really nice, too. We only stayed two nights; wish we could have stayed longer. There was a big moose hanging out behind the cabin for a long time one morning. We loved the wood stove. The only possible complaint is that there were terrible amounts of mosquitoes at times, but what can you do? It was Alaska in June. Our awesome hostess, Denise, gave us a zapper to use on the ones that got in the cabin, so at least we were safe there. She was really terrific and made us feel very welcome.
