We really enjoyed our stay at the McCarthy B&B. It was one of the few places in/near McCarthy that had an en suite bathroom with hot water and flushing toilet, and was at a good price for the area and amenities. Having a hot shower and heater felt amazing after we came back from a rainy day hiking outside and were soaked. It's a short 1/2 mile walk to the footbridge so you also save on parking fees at the base camp next to the footbridge. Complementary breakfast was nice and the communal kitchen is really nice with fridge and stove. It's right next to the Glacier View Campground Grill, which makes for a convenient dinner stop.

Great place. Felt like luxury out here. Bathroom with hot shower and heater in room. Also had WiFi which was nice because my phone is AT&T which has no service here so was able to keep up with my business back home. Has nice indoor community kitchen which is very important because of all the bugs. Very short walk to the foot bridge.

Our guests have been staying at the B&B for years and they have always been overwhelmingly pleased with the comfort, communication, homeliness, and atmosphere. In a community where there are few options that include private full bathrooms, this is an added perk that is very well received. Everything is super clean and comfortable and we look forward to stying with McCarthy B&B for years to come.

We stayed here over the summer (a little late on the review, I apologize! But better late than never) and John, the owner, was the kindest man! We would love to come back!!! The breakfast is delicious, the cabins are perfect and they're even built by the man himself! We did a backpack trip in the park and planned to walk to the pick up station but John offered to drive us! And to our surprise, he even called to see when we would be back to pick us up! He was awesome and easy-going! We talk about this trip so much and this adorable B&B was a highlight. We hope to visit again soon! Thanks John for a wonderful trip!

First of all, this place is like an Alaskan paradise—breathtaking mountain views right outside your door. The Kennicott and Root glaciers are just a few miles away and are visible from the property. McCarthy B&B was perfect for us because it offers bathrooms and hot water in every cabin. My daughter and I had a 2 bedroom with its own kitchen. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Complimentary breakfast was awesome. The property is a short walk to the pedestrian bridge and shuttle service to Kennicott. Would definitely stay here again.

John and Lynn run a top notch BnB. Our stay with them was a highlight of our visit to McCarthy. The cabins are so clean and well maintained. John and Lynn are so accommodating. And the breakfasts!! Still laughing at the sight of Lynn shooing a moose out of her garden.

Our stay was beyond comfortable. Our cabin was brand new, very clean, cozy, with beautiful areal photographs on the walls. Breakfast was a delicious feast in a beautiful communal cabin. Would definitely recommend this place.
