We don’t travel often any more so when we do we want the places we stay to be special, McCaffrey House exceeded that expectation and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owner has created an immaculate retreat from the world that yet has every necessary modern amenity. The setting and architectural interest of the 8 room house is captivating. Our room with 2 queen beds (Sage) was large, comfortable and we slept well. The breakfast was exceptional and the hostess / owner was a joy to chat with. When someone knows how to deliver a great guest experience and then custom builds a house just to be a top flight B&B, you get McCaffrey House.

I will never stay at this place again! We were there Sept 2024 and I fell outside my room on an open part of the boardwalk and shattered my ankle in 4 places. Emergency had to come and take me to the hospital. There should have been an orange cone or something identifying this part of the boardwalk. Plus her cleaning staff told us in the morning that they were aware of that spot. She still charged me a full nights stay. Awful customer service and we never got a breakfast.

This review is about a stay that didn't happen.My husband and I had reservations at McCaffrey House for 3 nights. On the morning that we were supposed to leave, my husband started to feel faint and his pacemaker shocked him. We rushed to the ER in Mammoth Lakes and he was subsequently put on a life flight to another hospital. I texted McCaffrey House very quickly and said we wouldn't make our reservation, fully realizing that we would probably lose our money. By that afternoon, I had a text from Stephanie telling me she had refunded us for our stay. I hadn't asked for a refund, but it as welcome relief. My husband is back home and recovering. Knowing that this is the kind of understanding and concern shown by the owners of McCaffrey House , I cannot thank them enough and highly encourage anyone to spend time there. I'm sure they are wonderful people and the Inn looks amazing. Thank you again Stephanie for your kindness. We hope to someday make it there.

We spontaneously decided to drive up to experience the snow. The McCaffery House Bed And Breakfast Inn exceeded our expectations. Stephanie and Nannette were wonderful hosts and welcoming to our Corgi as well. Our spacious and cozy second floor room afforded a beautiful birds eye view of the snow falling outside with the fire place providing warmth and atmosphere. The breakfast was hearty and delicious and beautifully served in their lovely dining room. Parking is convenient and all the individual rooms as well as the House have good security. We hope to return soon.

Great food! We stayed in 2 different rooms 2 different nights. I definitely wouldn't come back for the rooms, but I would put up with the beds for her food! Outstanding breakfast both morning!

My husband and I were lucky enough to get a last minute reservation at the McCaffrey House last weekend. What a lovely spot! Our room was spacious, comfortable and elegantly decorated. It included thoughtful extras such as bathrobes and candies. After a day of stressful driving, we especially appreciated the opportunity to unwind on the deck with a glass of complementary wine. A delicious, freshly cooked breakfast was served on the deck the next morning with a lovely view over a lush, forested area. Our host, Stephanie, was friendly and helpful. I fully recommend the McCaffrey House!

We stayed at McCaffrey House for a long week-end of ski.|I'm so glad we discovered this little gem in the Sierra.|Stephanie and the team will prepare you a different breakfast every morning. They are so excited about their breakfast recipes that it becomes a thing and you can't wait to get up in the morning to see what's on the menu today. If your kid is picky, they accommodate with kid food.|The House is very well maintained. 20min from ski resort and there are a number of small Sierra towns around to be discovered. The staff is super nice and Stephanie has always good tips for you to visit the surroundings.

Please note that most of the reviews are several years old, particularly the 5 star ones. I'm guessing that the owners of the inn were once gracious but are now rude and offensive. From being attacked for drinking her son's "irreplaceable" beer which was kept in the guest accessible refrigerator along with sodas, water and wine to being told that check out time was 11am even though the roads were closed due to heavy snow and the stairs out of the house were iced over, I've never been so offended and upset. The house is surrounded by nature's beauty but desperately needs updating (think early 1990s). The gourmet breakfast consisted of casseroles and they ran out of coffee and creamer.
Please, please, please look elsewhere for a place to stay!!!!
