Spent a few nights here last weekend as a getaway. The service from every one there was fantastic; everyone that we worked with whether the breakfast service or the front desk were so friendly and helpful. The hot tubs were a great little retreat, but it wasn't super warm when we were there so we didn't use the pool much. Our room felt a little older and there was an issue with the sink, but they got it resolved and the room was very clean.
It's not super close to bar/restaurants like to walk to, but they have some places on site although we drove to most of our destinations. Beautiful little retreat in the middle of the city. You can hear planes from the airport, but the highway noise wasn't bad at all considering how close you are to it.
Would definitely consider returning if we are in the area again.

This was the perfect place for a weekend getaway to see the sun! We came with one goal: lounge at the pool. The pool was perfect! There were two areas of the pool to separate things, and two hot tubs. They provided pool towels. Our room was outside of the “quiet zone” and things got a little loud at night, so request that if it’s important to you. The food at the restaurant was great & we loved the pool bar for drinks. We’d stay here again if we came back to Phoenix!

This was our second visit to the resort, having experienced it during both summer and winter. For this trip, we rented three rooms for a family gathering, and while our first stay was mostly positive, there were some recurring disappointments this time around.

One of the main draws for us was the pool area, given the resort’s stunning setting. However, just as we noticed during our summer visit, the pool temperatures were uncomfortably cold—even in the summer heat. Before our winter stay, I specifically called to confirm that the pools would be heated and was assured they would be, but unfortunately, this wasn’t the case. The water was far too cold to enjoy, and even the hot tubs were not warm enough. This was a major letdown, as we had hoped to spend quality time poolside with family. Instead, we found ourselves leaving the resort to seek out activities elsewhere.

For a resort of this caliber, I would expect the pool and hot tub temperatures to be well-maintained, especially in colder months. Ensuring a comfortable pool experience would encourage guests to stay on-site, relax, and spend money on drinks or other amenities.

Additionally, during this visit, the poolside service left something to be desired. We had to walk up to the pool bar to order drinks because the server didn’t make rounds to our area, which detracted from the otherwise relaxing atmosphere.

While the resort has a lot of potential and an undeniably beautiful setting, addressing these issues would go a long way in enhancing the overall guest experience.

Staff went out of their way to be helpful. Rooms were clean, and they straightened them up and made the beds every morning. My team ordered breakfast in the morning, and everything we ordered was delicious. Our server went out of her way to ensure I was happy. She even made me a custom chocolate milk just the way I like it. And she always had a smile. I did not eat dinner here, but I did visit the bar. I was surprised with their whiskey selection. They even had some harder-to-find bourbons. An expansive grounds with numerous pools, hot tubs, volleyball and tennis courts. A true resort. We enjoyed our stay very much.

12-07-2024: What a great place, and what fantastic people! Last week we stayed at the Marriott Resort at the Buttes, and the staff took such good care of us. Srushtri checked us in with a beautiful smile and remembered us from a previous stay. General Manager Rebecca came out and greeted us personally and made us feel so much at home. The next morning, Hiba remembered what we ordered for breakfast the last time we were there (over a year ago), and even knew how we liked our eggs! Joylyn checked us out with the same charm as Srushtri. No wonder we keep coming back!! --Darrell and Elisa Hartsock

Incredible stay at The Buttes. The staff here was amazing; service above and beyond for every interaction from checkin to breakfast to checkout. We would recommend The Buttes for an urban oasis, conveniently located minutes away from Sky Harbor with a relaxing and refreshing experience awaiting.

So I’ve been coming to this hotel since 1998, I’m thrilled to see they’re doing some updates. But whenever I go to Phoenix, I try my hardest to stay there. The location cannot be beat, I’ve stayed at some of the resorts in Scottsdale, but I still gravitate back here because of the location. The pool is simply amazing. If you have a chance to eat at top of the rock, it’s delicious if not, the bar food is really good.

Noting like sitting in a hot tub under the stars next to a waterfall. The hot tubs are built into the cliffs and they are beautiful. The pools are lovely and quiet. The people who work here are fabulous and kind and helpful. The renovated rooms are comfortable and tastefully done. This place is a gem.||No, this is not the fanciest resort I have ever stayed in- the people who are complaining should also mention that the price is less than half of the fancier resorts in the area.
