This spot is a gem! First time here and the customer service was very welcoming and treated me like a friend. I ordered the cat fish entree that comes with 2 sides. I chose the Mac and cheese with the recommended red beans and rice and mannnnn everything was delicious!! Will definitely be back! It’s nice to have a soul food spot local that is this amazing. Highly recommend!

I felt like a little kid eating all of the wonderful food here. The black eyed peas, coleslaw, rice, fried chicke, BBQ chicken, and cornbread tasted just like a family member made it all. I will definitely be coming back.

Just moved to Alaska 3 weeks ago, and we're all about finding the best food. Being a true southern girl, I'm always on the hunt for soul food. After a quick Google search, I stumbled upon Mama Carol's and based on the reviews, I was in for a treat. My family stopped by on a Saturday evening. We were welcomed with smiles and great music (Teddy P's Love TKO was on). I ordered the catfish plate with okra, mac n cheese, cornbread, and peach cobbler. My partner also ordered the catfish plate but opted for collard greens, yams, a dinner roll, and Koolaid. WE ATE IT ALLLLLLLLLLL!! Everything was so good, we wanted to go back the next day. The only thing that stopped us was the fact that they're closed on Sundays, lol. Take it from this Georgia girl and Alabama boy, Mama Carol's is the place to be for soul food in Anchorage and probably the entire state. We will definitely return!

When I tell you this dinner satisfied the craving I’ve had for a while! The catfish plate was on 🔥🔥. Mac & cheese with candy yams and greens too! Went with a side of buffalo wings that were on point.

Highly recommended, you should definitely give them a call!

We had the pleasure of dining at Mama Soul Food in Anchorage last night, and I can confidently say it was a delightful experience for our entire family! From the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that made us feel right at home.
As a family of five with three small children, finding a restaurant that caters to everyone's tastes can be a challenge. However, Mama Soul Food exceeded our expectations! The menu was filled with mouthwatering options, and we loved that there was something for everyone, from classic soul food to kid-friendly dishes.
To top it all off, the service was wonderful. Our server was attentive and friendly, ensuring that our needs were met and that we felt comfortable throughout our meal. The atmosphere was inviting, making it easy for our kids to relax and enjoy their food.
If you're in Anchorage and looking for a family-friendly dining spot that serves delicious soul food, I wholeheartedly recommend Mama Soul Food. Five out of five stars! We can’t wait to return for another round of great food and memories!

We ordered the Catfish Fillets, Fried Okra, Mac N Cheese, Greens, Cornbread, Yams, & Peach Cobbler (because they were out of the Sweet Potato Pie, we'll be back!) Everything was delicious!! The Catfish was excellent. The Greens, Cornbread, Fried Okra, Mac N Cheese, Yams, Peach Cobbler, all were very good!
I have to recommend Mama Carol's, definitely
a new favorite for us!

I have cancer and I’ve been having trouble eating certain things. Today I wanted to try out your food. I enjoyed it so much. I love the cabbage and Mac and cheese. The pork chops with sauce was delicious. I will definitely be going here again. The customer service was great. Greeted me when I came through the doors. Excellent💖💖💖💖
