Maltby Cafe - Snohomish, Washington

I finally made it to this locally famous cafe for breakfast. The restaurant is located downstairs of a large old building. The dining area was very spacious and could seat a large number of people. The service was excellent with friendly,smiling servers who diligently topped off our coffee and water. We went early on a Sunday morning and were seated right away. As the room filled up, the noise level became uncomfortably loud since the table near us had screaming and crying children.
The food portion was large and the coffee was good. The breakfast potatoes were shaped like fries and were undercooked, so much so that my husband could not eat half of his breakfast. Mine were a little more cooked, but I also gave up eating it and took my breakfast home to re-cook the potatoes. We brought this to the waitress's attention and though she offered to bring out some fresh ones, we didn't have the time to wait. The place was getting quite full and loud. We had ordered their large cinnamon roll to go.
It was impressively large; however, the frosting was not cream cheese and it tasted just sugary. I was very disappointed with my first visit to this cafe. Although the service was good, the undercooked food was not worth the money we paid, so we will not be returning.

This is used to be one of those quaint quiet restaurants around Snohomish. But no thanks for food vloggers. The wait just sucks. No time of the day nor day of the week that this place is not full. Other than that, the service and the food are still 5 stars!

Great place to stop by and have a big breakfast/brunch. It's a popular spot so sometimes there's a wait before getting a table but the food is bountiful and delicious. Orange juice is fresh and their house hollaindase sauce is good. Their English muffins and jam are also delicious.

This place was packed! But I realized that's because it really was worth the wait. Though loud and hard to maneuver because so many people were there (it was a Monday over the holidays at 10a), I felt appropriately cared for by the staff and didn't feel like the wait for food was significantly impacted by the crowd. That's a big deal. Well done! The food was also tasty and enough for leftovers the next day-- and still tasted good. The cinnamon rolls are definitely something you'd get to share with a few other people or save for multiple days of indulgence. Prices were typical for a cafe I think. Great food and service, I went there for brunch.

The waffles and pancakes with their signature cream were delicious!

Coffee was standard and customizable.

Crowded on the weekend, might have to wait for a while.

Cozy, local business with tasty food and impeccable service. Our waitress, Satina, went above and beyond to make our breakfast special. I haven't received such service even in 5 star restaurants. She was warm, she was sweet and she was genuinely nice. To top it off the cinnamon rolls there are huge and yummy.

Went there for a Saturday brunch. It was a bit busy even on a rainy day, but the wait was well worth it. I tried the Russian omelette, and it was delicious. The portion size was big, and the potatoes were tasty. Great customer service with good atmosphere. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for options outside the city but not too far from East side.

This was our first time coming here and wow was it busy! That is always a good sign when you go somewhere so we didn't mind waiting. They had generous portions and even with how busy it was we still got our food quickly and our server was attentive.
