We had a very pleasant stay. My wife was worried this would be like a no-tell motel type of place as she likes to avoid the small single level park outside the door motels due to a poor experience years ago in southern Michigan. This place is nothing like that at all. Very very nice. We both loved our room! We would definitely stay at the Lumberjill Lodge again and recommend it to anyone.

We stayed at this charming boutique motel over MEA weekend with our kids, and it was the perfect getaway to explore the beautiful fall leaf colors! The motel itself was clean, cozy, and full of character, offering everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

The location was ideal for exploring the area. We spent time at the public balsam lake access park, where the kids had fun playing. In town we stopped at the local brewery which had a laid-back vibe perfect for parents to relax while the kids enjoyed playing with the claw machine. Across from there is a small ice cream shop (out of a home) that had great scoop ice cream and toys outside for the kiddos to play with. The motel was conveniently close to local attractions like Fawn-Doe-Rosa, and Taylor Falls where we enjoyed a scenic boat tour and explored the glacial pot holes ending the day with ice cream at Schooneys. The kids especially loved Fawn-Doe-Rosa where they were able to feed deer, goats, and get close to many animals.

Overall, this boutique motel was an excellent base for our fall weekend adventures. We loved the mix of outdoor activities, local charm, and family-friendly fun. Highly recommend for families looking for a relaxing yet eventful getaway!

I showed up at 10pm in a dark lot, entered the code for the room I was assigned (#3), and it had not been cleaned. Bed was unmade, beer bottles and trash on the counter. I called the number provided and after some time was given a code for a second room (#2). Upon entry into this room, I was immediately greeted by an infestation of boxelder bugs. After another wait, I was given a code to a third room (#4). Just two boxelder bugs in this one so I scooped them outside and decided to stay (no alternatives). My reservation was for two nights. The next morning, I went to leave and realized I forgot something. But now the code doesn't work to get back in! I was on the phone again with someone who is not local, tons of background noise, like she is in a restaurant or something, and had to wait 45 minutes to get a code that would work. I panicked because my wedding outfit was in the room! Finally got back in and the rest of the stay was fine. The room was okay. Scuffed and stained, the hook on the bathroom door fell off when I hung a towel on it, one towel had a hole in it. Otherwise, it was fine. It's a cute motel and has potential to be really great. But be aware of the off-site, call center style service. It is really disconcerting, especially as a solo female traveler that first night. Yikes. In response to my experience they gave me $29 off (15%) and scolded me for swearing when I couldn't access my room. *shrug*

Great motel! The room was clean and the support staff were very responsive. My single queen room was a little small, but as I was there for a work trip, it was perfectly fine for my needs. The half-size fridge was very nice.

We loved our stay and would recommend to anyone looking for a reasonable priced option walking distance to town. The room was darling - everything we needed and it is clear that the owners are excited about their refurbishment. Check in was seamless - didn’t need any help but we knew help was just a text away, if needed.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Lumberjill lodge this past weekend and had a wonderful time. The room was clean and well maintained. Everything worked and the bed was really comfy. Balsam lake was really fun. We drove to St.Croix Falls and Taylor's falls both just a short drive. We ate at the Indianhead supper club both nights of our stay because it was fantastic! Thanks for a great weekend!
