First of all if you are planning on enjoying this restaurant during a weekend day please reserve as delays are usually very long. We ordered a New york stake, green/white pastas and a side salad. We also ordered some a ravioli plate. They start you off with some very plain sourdough.. and no oils or sauces to start with. I was told some simple olive oil for my appetizer was extra cost. The steak was completely burnt even though I had ordered it as medium-well. The seasoning was great I have to say but the meat was just to burnt. Our pastas where delicious. Overall we liked it but it wasn't what we expected. I will be coming back to try a different dish.

Okay my pasta was amazing! Service was iffy because they served two tables before us who got seated after us (one of which was larger than our group). The affogato I would recommend skipping, it was one of the worst I’ve had and I’ve tried a ton, but I’m giving the five for how awesome the pasta was. It was literally the best pasta I had in my life. Sangria was alright but nothing to rave about. Skip the drinks and dessert and just get the pasta, you’ll have no complaints. Friend had the red sauce on their pasta and did not like it, I can only recommend the truffle one. Get the truffle pasta.

A very poplar spot here in Bakersfield, have great Italian dishes, we tried the spaghetti and spicy sausage, meat ravioli and the cannelloni for desert.
They are also famous for their meat sandwiches

Really nice place and has a good amount of history behind it! Food was solid Italian American fare with a good selection of specials. Feels like a Sunday dinner type of place but they’re only open around lunch time! Was super packed when I came in and food came out fast! Service is also really good! Def recommend!

Avoid This Establishment – Disappointing Service and Racism at Play

I visited this restaurant hoping to enjoy their renowned truffle pasta, but my experience was unfortunately soured by poor service by the bartender Julie and what seemed to be racially biased treatment. We were the only POC in the restaurant. After arriving and sitting at the bar, we patiently waited for service. We were clearly seen by the bartender, Julie who even spoke to us, but then proceeded to serve TWO groups that sat down after us—leaving us waiting for a solid 15-20 minutes. Our table was ready before she could even serve us our drinks we ordered so we just left to head to our table. Our server was really nice and probably the only reason why we stayed to eat.

After doing some research, it became clear that this wasn’t an isolated incident. Many other POC patrons have shared similar experiences, where they were either served after others who came in later or were asked to give up their seats for someone else. One review even mentioned the bartender by name, Julie, as the person who deliberately skipped us. I’m guessing this might be part of a larger issue, and judging by the fact that there has been no response to similar feedback, it doesn’t sound like they are in any rush to correct Julie’s behavior.

As for the food, it was okay but really greasy. I understand butter is essential in truffle pasta, but the amount of butter on the plate was excessive, making it feel less like a luxurious dish and more like a greasy mess. Definitely not worth the price, especially given the interior that looks more like a budget pizza parlor than a high-end dining experience.

For anyone who values good food and respectful service, especially POC patrons, I would strongly advise against dining here. It’s not just about the food; it’s about feeling valued as a customer, and sadly, this place misses the mark on both.

Discovered while passing through from out of town last week. Place always busy, so go next door to their deli where they have antipasto and bottles of wine and they allow you to chill outdoors while you wait for your table. All servers and employees there are totally friendly.

First time trying out this place. Had heard about how good it was. So my expectations were kinda high going in. I am hoping it was just because we got the food to go, and that when we try this place out in person i can boost the 3 stars to 5, but i was not that impressed. The spaghetti was decent, a little thin for my liking, and the meatballs were eh. My wife said that her sandwich was good, but again wasn't amazing, just average. We will be definitely trying out the dine in experience soon. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. The little shop i ordered from was cool as well, had a lot of nice things could pick up quickly if needed.

Do not go during a major holiday or graduation events. Parking is very scarce parking lots are all full. Street parking is extremely difficult. The restaurant has a very Italian atmospheric with the checkered red and white plastic table coverings. Has enough tables for booking large family/friends gatherings. Tip: book in weeks advance of an event or special occasions. Yes! Reservations are strictly available so take heed!
There is a store next door where you can buy food, place take-out orders to go. Various enticing items such as Pickled carrots, cheeses, olives of various assortment flavors. Crackers
drinks soda bottled or can. Staff in the store were fast and knowledgeable about the menu.
Outside chairs for waiting for dining or waiting for your take-out orders.
Bon appetite!
Moderately expensive.
