I can't say enough good things about the owners. They were a blessing to us when we got snowed in. The rooms are quiet and room 1 has two separate sleeping areas as well as a kitchen. It opens into the back porch with beautiful views and a fire pit area with seating and a picnic table. If you are looking for a quiet getaway this is your stop. Be sure to make reservations for dinner, the food is fantastic! We'll be back for sure!

Just had dinner at the lodge in Alpena. Hands down one of the best meals in the area. Everything there is crafted with attention to detail, and so delicious. Our waitress Debby was phenomenal; she made the entire experience unforgettable. When we get the chance, we will again dine at the Lodge.

Dinner was delicious. The extensive fresh seafood offerings not on the menu were impressive. Could have ordered fresh Tuna, Mahi, Lobster Tail, crab meat, crab cakes. Had the best smoke trout dip ever. Great rustic atmosphere in the middle of the mountains. Great food. Only take cash or check.

This place is a true hidden gem. My family and I LOVE coming here to eat every time we're in town! The food is fresh and always hits the spot. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff is very friendly and welcoming, too! We always look forward to eating here before we make our way to camp. Looking forward to eating here again very soon!

I've been all over the world and this is the worst place I've ever stayed at. It's been 2 years since I paid for a room here and I still think about it. They put me in the shack out back due to COVID and didn't even have soap or shampoo for me (I was on a motorcycle). I asked them for some and they acted like lodging provided essential toiletries was not a thing, seriously. They ended up scrambling around and squirted some in a cup. A glass from the bar.

Also, the wifi wouldn't reach out back and they got mad that I was setting in the restaurant on my phone (there's no service there). And asked me to order food or leave even though i had spent $100 for a room that had not been cleaned. Hair in the bed. Trash in all of the cans..

I ended up leaving that night. I didn't even stay and I'm never going back. Those people are super freaking weird.

Heat in room was insufficient, WiFi said I must hold my phone up to network owners phone and be in their contacts, the password wasn’t provided. Had a friend with me and booked two nights, we were provided 1 wash cloth and 2 towels. We were told to call if we needed more but we had no cell service and there are no phones in the room. The bathroom wasn’t exactly clean, the coffee pot was dirty, no cups provided and no coffee provided. The hard wood floors need some attention as well. Very much felt like a somewhat renovated outbuilding which I beleive it is. Sunday I wanted to check out and the resteraunt was locked and dark so I had to leave my key between the screen door and hard door. Only saving grace of this place was he did wait up for me to arrive at a very late hour

Good food and service. The steaks are tender and juicy. Loved the homemade dressing for the salads. Worth the drive! Wish we could have chosen our own sides. Garlic bread with the spaghetti would be a nice addition to the menu.

Second time visiting and the food and service were both fantastic. I had the crab stuffed trout, delicious! The italian sausage stuffed wax pepper appetizer was great. The marinara was amazing. I am not sure if it was a temporary internet issue or if they just don't ever accept cards, so make sure you have cash or a checkbook.
