Beautiful old estate in Marlinton. Owners live on the property and provide great hospitality and meals. Best place to stay in the area!

We stayed two nights at the Locust Hill Inn and rode north and south sections of the Greenbrier River Rail out of Marlinton. I would recommend staying at Locust Hill Inn to enjoy the area. It is ~1/2 mile from the trail and downtown so easy access to the trail and other activities in Marlinton. The property is really beautiful...peaceful and quiet. The rooms were immaculate and very comfortable. The hosts Joseph and Vanessa were amazing and very friendly. They were very helpful with suggestions. The full breakfast was delicious. We also had dinner there one evening, which was excellent. Overall, I would recommend staying at the Locust Hill Inn. We will return again and try to stay longer next time.

My friends and I were staying nearby for a bachelorette party, and we came to the Locust Hill Inn for brunch, and it was absolutely delicious. The owners were so incredibly sweet, and the food was amazing, they had homemade English muffins and bagels as well as so much more. We didn't stay at the inn, but I will absolutely be returning and staying there. The location has a lot of great hiking trails around and the views are absolutely gorgeous.

Meals at the inn were delightful, complemented by generous pours and engaging conversations. The short walk to town and proximity to Snowshoe struck the perfect balance between seclusion and convenience. The peaceful winter scenes and mingling with fellow guests added to the overall charm. We left the inn feeling immensely grateful for the respite and generosity from our hosts. A wholehearted recommendation for those seeking a tranquil retreat, and we eagerly anticipate a return in the future!

The cabin was beautiful, clean, cozy and private. The hot tub was wonderful. Hosts were friendly and helpful. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

I had an excellent experience here. The owners are wonderful and I thoroughly enjoyed my conversations with them. The breakfast each day was substantial and the food quality excellent. I devoured each meal. Coffee also is really good - Joseph blends a couple of organic beans to make a better brew. I had dinner here one night as well and it was also very good (trout with a tasty crab cake that actually had crab - often find they are breadcrumbs and mayo - and properly cooked fresh tasting vegetables). I stayed in the upstairs room which is very spacious though does have more stairs if that is an issue for you. Grounds are lovely as well. Close to the Greenbrier river trail and the town which is small but cute and the folks friendly. Great place to bike and hike.

Stayed at The Cabin for a long weekend. Took day trips out to Snowshoe, Cass, Green Bank Observatory and Nature. Great location for this as Marlinton has a few restaurants, grocery, etc.
The cabin was nice and has what we needed for a basic weekend of exploring and trying to get snowed in, exactly what we needed to refresh. The included Breakfasts were excellent and took the stress out of packing for meals.
Joe and Vanessa were very nice and accommodating and excellent cooks! Sad we were not able to plan for one of their steak dinners.
