I visited on January 3, 2024, and enjoyed every aspect of my experience. The food was excellent, which is impressive since I only ordered breakfast and I have high expectations for that meal. The service was also outstanding, as our coffee mugs were never allowed to drop below halfway. The building itself was quaint and interesting, contributing to a true small-town atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this place!

So glad they were open on Easter. We were traveling to see family, and took a pit stop on our travels north to exit a few miles off of I-5 to eat breakfast. The steak and eggs were both cooked perfectly to order and my brother loved the country eggs Benedict. Very nice people and service. And most importantly in the morning, they kept the coffee cups full😊

Great Food the portions are getting smaller. Not many hashbrowns, as you can see in the picture. Food is great. My breakfast omelet was $18.00 plus coffee. The wife substituted toast for a Biscit for an extra $2.50 plus 2 coffees at $2.50 each. So breakfast was $44.00 for 2 plus tax and tip.

Delicious breakfast!! I had a perfectly seasoned pork chop, crispy hashbrowns, and 2 egg-cellent eggs! Hubby had a full order of biscuits and gravy. He took half home. He said it was very good. Fresh coffee, and we didn't have to wait long. Prices were reasonable. I will mention that the waitress, although prompt and accurate, had no personality... no smile, no good morning, no friendliness at all. It won't keep us from returning, however.

The experience was exactly as one would expect from a rural, small town diner.  Great decor!  Lots of interesting historic photos and items.  The service was incredibly fast!  The food was a bit too salty. I wished I had spices or ingredients other than salt to make it taste more interesting.  That said, everything seemed clean and the kitchen staff took the time to greet us, which is always nice!  The descriptions on the menu were exactly what we got.  After dark, the parking situation was a bit awkward, tricky to safely navigate.  I'm glad a local cafe with such hardworking staff doing nothing wrong is getting the support it deserves and I would be content eating here again, but I'm not sure the flavor of anything rose above "average" (making it 3 stars, unfortunately). Yes, I would recommend it to anyone who is already passing thru the area and looking for a history-loving, small town diner with a good, strong American vibe, but I'm not sure the flavor of any of the food would be worth going out of your way for.  That's why my verdict is a "normal locals diner" middle amount of stars.

This place was jamming on Friday prime rib night!! Non stop people coming in and out... We felt lucky to get a table. There were only two servers but they could have used a third.... But the two who were working were AMAZING... We got great speedy attentive service even though the place was slammin!! Of course we ordered the Friday night prime rib special.... And it did not disappoint...😋... We were told the owner takes special pride and personally cooks the prime rib.... You can certainly tell that's a fact. It was absolutely fabulous along with the mashed potatoes, gravy and green beans.... HIGHLY RECOMMEND this cool place just a few miles off Exit 59 on I-5!!

I've eaten here only twice and both times I was disappointed. I've heard their food was really good. One time I had liver and onions. It was like trying to chew a boot. Last time was biscuits and gravy. Biscuits were nothing like a biscuit. More like unsweetened cake. Gravy was gross. If it was sausage gravy, they forgot to add the sausage. No flavor at all.

Update from March 25th. A great local restaurant. Another great dinner. The food is prepared to perfection each and every time. We went there for for the Friday night Prime Rib. We ordered prime rib, very "rare". It was the best Prime Rib meals we have had in a long time. The meat was very flavorful, cooked to profection. The sides; green beans, baked potato, salad and ice cream Sunday made it a complete meal. Great service, and very friendly staff. The restaurant was very busy. People were coming and going all the time we were there.. The restaurant was kept very clean. Amanda was a great waitress and the cook, is the best.
