The Landmark Catering & Convention Center is an absolutely beautiful venue. We had our wedding on the Rooftop Garden Ballroom and the view is breathtaking. The venue is old and unique, yet outdated in aspects, but everything came together so perfectly. The view on the rooftop made our ceremony one of a kind! The food was outstanding!! Michelle, Karen & team worked with us to build the menu exactly how we wanted and on our wedding day the food was even better than our first tasting! There were so many compliments given on the food, & venue from our guests even days after the wedding. We were blown away with how perfect & beautiful our wedding was.

However, everything leading up to our wedding day was a complete pain. Unfortunately, there were many many points throughout our planning process where I wanted to break our contract because the experience we were having almost didn't seem worth it. COMMUNICATION was 2/10. We sent so many unanswered emails. Majority of our emails actually. Any phone messages went unanswered. Most of the questions we had were only answered by showing up at the venue; we live an hour away so it was extremely inconvenient. Our coordinator couldn't get in contact either. Another issue we had was certain information was a constant back and forth. There were many things we were told (before signing a contract) that later on changed and we were given different information, then again different information. There were things that we were told would be fixed, that were never fixed & took multiple confrontations before it was done. Everything was just so unorganized and no one was on the same page & it made our experience really frustrating. Their red chairs also stained our white chair covers.

With some additions like new chairs, tablecloths (that fit the tables,) a little updating (water stains, paint, curtains,) and MUCH MUCH better communication & planning on their part, this venue could be booked solid because it is very beautiful and so unique. Everyone that works there are very nice people. And despite all our frustrations everything did eventually get worked out for the day of our wedding and our wedding was perfect.

The place is historical and pretty. But don't let the price of the room fool you. You will spend a pretty penny. The food was outstanding and the workers who helped out during the reception wrre great, friendly, helpful and knew what they were doing. The place is nice, but like I said before, it's gonna cost several thousand dollars, more or little less. The office staff or management doesn't help much, you have to keep on them, but they were nice too. Just be aware of what you really want to spend.

Our experience at the Tacoma Landmark was amazing, our wedding on August 3, 2013 was nothing shy of perfect. Karen made sure everything was covered, she allowed me to bring in an outside DJ and all my decorations for the location. She made sure that my last minute needs were taken care of with such ease. Everyone love the food and the service was outstanding. The staff was extremely friendly and so helpful. I couldn't have asked for a better day. Karen and Mike made sure they were always available for me no matter if it was my 100 Questions or needing to drop off a payment. Karen has so much experience with weddings that she made sure to ask questions that I had no idea about and was able to make my dream wedding come alive. We were married on the roof top with a beautiful view, I loved all the different rooms inside the Landmark, however the roof top allowed me to have my outside wedding. The service and no stress that came along with the most cost effective location made the Tacoma Landmark hands down the only place to get married. All my guest and my Husband and I are so happy with our whole experience we would recommend this location to anyone.

Had our wedding on the rooftop. Venue is gorgeous! Wait staff and food were great! Management however is a NIGHTMARE! We were promised a room by Johnny for our ceremony downstairs. Come to find out 1 week before the wedding that the room has been long term rented to a ballet company. No communication of such. Johnny is a classic snake oil salesman. Says what you want to hear, but has NO intention of following thorough unless it is the highest money maker. It was almost impossible to get in contact with management. Elevator was broken until morning of ceremony. We had planned to carry a few guests the six flights so they could attend. Had to fight tooth and nail for a refund on payment for original room promised by Johnny. Do not waste your time here, you will end up pulling out your own hair.

I wanted to give it more because the food is good and its a lovely place but management is not good. They don't know how to effectively communicate and the staff is unprofessional. You don't talk about other customers when people are around. Also they told us we could set up at 9am we got there at 10 and it wasn't ready. Came back at 430 and they were still setting up and our event started at 6 and we still needed to do our set up.

Horrible Management and Accounting Manager. I purchased tickets in 2020 that was cancelled due to COVID-19. I have been calling and e-mailing for 2 years to get a refund with NO response.
The one time I was able to get in contact with Sally J. Sanford (Accounting Manager), she had no idea how to process a simple refund and passed me along to another "manager" who has never contacted me.

Staff is super friendly, you might hit some hiccups but that goes for all event planning. Would definitely recommend them for small events of say less that 500 people. Excellent food/cooks. The only detriment is there is little parking. There is a lot located across the street but when an event occurs that parking might double in price. Would definitely recommend them for events.
