500$ nasty, old, derelict trailer house that what we got lol, there is no view, it’s overgrown brush with trash littered around. Trailer porch is so old it’s splintered and cracked everywhere. Inside it’s so nasty we cut our 2 night stay to one and just returned home. Beds were gross with old nasty pillows and dusty blankets. Spiders and dust everywhere, bathrooms r gross and dirty we were scared to take showers. Internet none existent and TVs r from 1990s no channels ( why they have them is a mystery). Walls have hills so as the ceiling, I guess termites. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this roach trailer trash!

Great place to pull in for the night. The covered patio area was nice for grilling and relaxing. We had a group of 12 of us so all those outdoor tables were great. Located in a very quiet area. Great place to watch the sunrise also.

Ever since we started going to Kern river, we stay at this hotel. We enjoy it and love it. The view is beautiful, especially at night. The rooms are clean, and the customer service is excellent. The only bad thing that we noticed about the rooms was that they have a musty smell, so open the doors and windows as soon as you get there or take a scented candle or air freshener, and the foul odor will go away. Other than this minor detail, we love this place.

Check-in is at Barewood Lodge about half a mile away. No one emails, texts or calls to inform you about the check-in. I kept wandering the property to figure out how to check-in. No staff or service on site. Finally, I noticed the sign on the road with the info in fine print. When I drove to Barewood around 6pm, their front office was closed with an envelope taped to the window that had my name on it with the room number and key inside it. Even though they say there is Wi-Fi at the lodge, you get absolutely no connectivity in the rooms and barely any wifi signal elsewhere on the property. Very dated, bathroom smelled of urine. The room itself was clean. There was only one extremely tiny soap bar in the bathroom. There is a lot of overgrown brush on the property grounds adjacent to and touching the walls of the structure, fire hazard! Views are great, and location is at the north shore of the lake. Lastly, thru the roof expensive for the poorest quality place. I suggest drive a little further to Kernville and stay elsewhere.

You check in at Barewood Inn. The outside looks cute and quaint, as expected. Checking in was a breeze. Then you're informed that your room is down the road at their other location. We did book a Lakeshore Lodge room, after all.

Drive to our room is only a couple of minutes, Open the door, and it looks nothing like the pics from their website. Furniture was dated. There were no comforter/bedspreads on the beds (we did go get them). The unmatching art had a panel missing. Soap scum film on the shower doors. It was such a disappointment.

The grounds - I'll say the pictures GIVE them justice. The common area is uneven for seating, and the floor in the "party" area is broken up.

We were with great company and decided to call it a throwback weekend. You know, back when you were young and this was all you could afford. LoL

The beds were comfy, the room was clean, the mini fridge worked good, so did the a/c-heater unit, and the hidden ice machine was full of CLEAR ice. The nook area was nice for eating and game play. There was a variety of coffees available at the front desk for the Keurig in the room, but you better bring your own creamer.

With a little effort and attention to detail, this place really could WoW.

Lake Shore Drive has more to offer than just rooms. The rooms they have I thought are nice, they have a little kitchen area, the beds and the doors are sliding glass paned doors that open up into a nice Garden setting. They were clean and my friends had enough room.
I was surprised to learn earlier last week they have houses also to rent. My son's house flooded and contractors are in them right now. He and his wife are in one of their homes and I stopped by there to visit also. The house is beautiful! It has vaulted ceilings recessed lighting, the kitchen is great even has a skylight in the kitchen. Three bedrooms are very big and have king size beds in each. The master suite has a sunken tub, the bathroom is just enormous boasting a walk-in closet.
Here you are displaced from your home for a week or so while it is being repaired and you can just move into a beautiful home that has all of the Comforts of yours. So Lakeshore Lodge has some hidden secrets that even I living in this Valley my life didn't even know they had. Now of course I saw this house, and it was named I believe the three kings. I don't know if they have a lot of homes to rent but this one was great and I would choose it over getting a room if I had a family or if I were staying somewhere with other couples..

I love this spot!! I come here often for work & this place has the best amenities in town. I love the little kitchen space- one of the rooms even has a toaster, which is so handy. Everything is clean & the people running it are outstanding- they’re very helpful when I call for a last minute booking. I have nothing but good things to say about Lakeshore Lodge, I come back here all the time.

Room was like a tiny house and small. It was clean and the furnishings were in good condition. TV was in a strange place. The A/C/Heat worked but when the temperature was reached it started blowing cool air. We were using the heat because for us it was a little cool at night. The WiFi wasn't the best and that's important to me. The door stuck and was hard to open and close. It needs to have the bottom planed even. Also the price was very good but I would not stay there again.
