Came here during a family reunion and it was a really nice outing. The lake is so peaceful, and some of the views were really nice. The weather was also comfortable (we went in mid-July) and there were many nice spots to pause/take breaks. Although the trails were not the easiest to see or follow, the hike was energizing. Would recommend this to anyone who is looking for an easy-moderate hike, but just be aware that there is a fee of $6 per person.

We love going to Lake Skinner and have been trailer camping there for a few years now, usually for a weekend at least every other month. I'll break down our overall experience below.

Camping: The trailer sites are decent, though they are somewhat packed in there. Not too bad but just know you will be close to your neighbors. We usually camp with friends and book sites facing each other. Another thing we've noticed is that getting a site on the outskirts of the camp ground you're in is better than being in the middle. There are some prime spots that get booked quickly once available. Also important, some sites have large shade trees and some have no shade at all.

Stuff to do: The splash pad is amazing for those hot summer days, and seems to be the hot spot of the park. Both kids and adults have a great time hanging out here. Bring a couple towels and a beach blanket, some chairs, a cooler with food and drinks, a football/frisbee/whatever to play with, and you've got yourself a day of staying cool and having fun outside. Can't beat it!

There's also a playground the kids like to visit, and of course the lake itself. Be aware there's no bodily contact allowed with the lake, but it's a good time walking on the trails all around it, fishing, and going boating if you have one or rent one.

Whether you go to Lake Skinner just to camp, go fishing, hang out at/on the lake, spend the day at the splash pad, or have a picnic in the park, you're sure to have a fun and relaxing time. Highly recommend camping here or visiting for the day.

Had a great time it may not have a lot of extras like other campgrounds but for 50 bucks a night you can’t beat it. My family and friends had a great time here only thing is they don’t have cell phone service but it actually made it nice because the kids never wanted to get on the phone and either did the adult! Made for quality family time

Love this place. I love how clean it is. How they have full hook ups for RVs and showered for campers with tents and they have a playground. ( only thing no shade at the playground. Slides get supper HOT) i love the trails and splash park for the kids. This place is pretty big with great prices. Going back again next month

Really nice campground. The biggest issue is the LACK of bathrooms for the campgrounds. There are way too few and they are located a far walk from some of the campsites. Not sure why they don't have bathrooms on each end of each campground. Plus there are only three stalls for the entire Campground A and B. PLEASE put in more bathrooms!
The splash pad is pretty great and the walking trails are fun. Lots to do for everyone.

This is a beautiful place to visit to get away from the city life. It was $12.00 to get in. Unfortunately, they do not take the veteran park pass. It's a nice place to go hiking or just sitting by the lake. I saw that there was a playground and a splash park for your kids--I guess adults too. πŸ˜‚. We saw a campsite where you can either park your rv or put up your tent. We also noticed a small convenience store near the campsite. We're happy that they had clean restrooms around. They even had porta potty (portable toilets) around the hiking areas. There weren't any portable handwashing stations, though. Other than that, it's a beautiful place to enjoy nature.
