What a charming little place. The family that runs the Lake Front are so sweet and attentive. Great location if you want to be on the lake. East access to Birmingham/Leeds. The rooms were fine and very clean. Great value and I will definitely book here the next time I'm in the area. Bonus: The Courtyard Bar is on the property and is a great place to have dinner and drinks (and shoot some pool) at the end of the day. I believe it's not part of the motel.

The room was mediocre at best. My feet got black from walking on the floor. . The bed was hard. The pillows were mushy. You are only given two towels and two washcloths. They don’t even have hand towels. They allow pets but they are not pet friendly . One of the employees is terrified of dogs and glares at you like you are horrible. The maid service didn’t clean our room once in 3 days. Make sure to inspect your room and take pictures because they will charge you on top of the daily pet fee for “damages” . It was obviously not due to a dog but suitcases scraping against the wall. See photo below. Oh, and when they charge you extra, you’ll pay yet another credit card fee! I will not go back!

I wanted to like this motel really badly.
Let's start with the pros:
Possibly the nicest and friendliest owners and staff I've ever dealt with. Just amazing and I truly wish the best for them.
The location. Easily accessible from the highway.
The parking lot! Huge! I did not have to unhook my trailer. It was also well lit.

Okay, now to the cons and the reason for my review. I stayed here twice so I am certain it wasn't just a one time rememberance.

This motel obviously needs a little love. The rooms are cute, but everything is run down. The first room I stayed in, the curtains to the massive sliding door would not stay up on the end so I slept poorly worried about someone looking in, especially after reading someone else's review that mentioned a squatter.
The towels were old, scratchy and frayed. The locks were quite odd, and my first room deadbolt did not work so I had to prop a chair under the handle.
The beds are great if you like a firm bed, like a rock.
The second room I stayed in needed the AC cleaned (the coils, not the filter). I turned it on only to set off an asthma attack.
I ended up not using it because of that issue.
The sink in that room drained poorly, which by itself isn't a deal breaker or negative review, but just adds to the pile of "could be really nice with some improvement."
Lastly, the refrigerator in the second room was making a buzzing noise that, had I not needed it to keep morning coffee cold, i would have turned it off to avoid. So, warm drinks or awful sleep. I was already going to get awful sleep because of the beds and AC, so I chose cold drinks.
I also question the thoroughness of the cleaning staff because there was also old food in the fridge when I opened it (yuck!).
Despite all these things, i hope this review does not deter people from staying here because it truly is a neat place, but serves to help the owner know what sorts of things they could do to earn better reviews.

I wish this place best of luck, and would still stay there again.

The view of the lake was pretty, but it was mostly blocked by a wall of campers and trailers. The room was fairly clean, but the bed was uncomfortable and the bathroom sink would not drain. We were only given two towels, and there was no way to deadbolt the door. The staff was nice, and the bar next door had amazing food. Just a little underwhelming based on all of the 5 star reviews I saw.

Perfect weekend getaway,, nice room, and comfy beds at reasonable prices. Bring your polls and you can walk out the back door and fish, and also rent a jet ski or pontoon if you wish. Bar and grill was a nice end to the night with decent food and a band playing, pool tables. Staff was wonderful, we will be going back !
