Easily one of the worst places I’ve ever stayed. Pot holes in drive way and parking lot to avoid but easy enough as there is no other cars. Walked in and the entire lobby and hallways are very dimly lit. Front desk guy was alright besides the “if you need anything call the number, I live here”. Was also warned that the building was currently “suffering a stink bug infestation”. Was handed a set of traditional keys. One for the room. One for the side doors. That’s fine I guess. Get to my room which was supposedly “just cleaned” to find a very dim lit room. No secondary way to lock door from inside. The chain that was there appeared to be ripped off. Good thing I believe in the 2nd Amendment cause that was the only reason I felt safe here. Bathroom was decent. Water pressure sucked. Had three different colored wash clothes and 2 different colored towels one which had hair still on it. 3/4 a roll of tp. Hand soap in a pump style bottle. The room had no smoke detector. Just a hole in the wall were one was. The table in the room was stained and was close to falling apart and the two chairs were just metal folding chairs. No coffee machine. Mini fridge was clean and worked well. Microwave was disgusting. Blinds are pretty bad. The two beds in the room were hard as rocks and had sheets for blankets on them. I believe prisoners have better amenities than what is offered here. Massive hole in the wall covered by painters tape where a light fixture used to be. No cable tv. WiFi is spotty at best. 65.00 a night for three nights and I wish I woulda just played the extra 100.00 for the holiday inn two blocks away. Don’t waste your money here. I will never be staying here again and I advise you avoid at all costs. Spend the extra for a 100x better experience right down the road.

3 of us stayed for 2 nights , I have to say ,the price was great,the room was comfortable and clean, bathroom was very clean. I loved that it was off the beaten path ,it felt safe and private, the manager was so friendly, we were able to check in early,I liked that I could check in on arrival and my room was ready! I will definitely come back if I'm in the area. If you don't mind an older facility without the frills this is the place to stay. They make sure they take care of anything you might need !

Great place to stay! Great prices and communication
Super clean, close to the Penetentiary and restaurants. Only con is no coffee in the room, but available within a 3 min drive. We would definitely stay here again.

Very clean and accommodating, single room is very spacious and full of all amenities you’d need, absolutely knocks the the other motels in the area out of the park in terms of price, cleanliness and service. Location is great, off the road a little so no traffic noise bugging you all night. If you’re in need of a place to stay in this area you cannot beat the Lafayette.

I’m giving this a five star because it had all I needed. The price was good. The rooms were clean when I needed to talk to somebody I was able to talk to somebody and the main thing the owner was very reasonable and helped me out when I needed it, don’t be afraid to ask. only complaint is the road getting in has a bunch of potholes

Nicest people I've dealt with so far, I came here to be closer to work, having left a hotel in ohio. Decent place ,room is clean the folks running it are very nice. (I work in the hotel industry)

Small and secluded, little run down but i absolutely loved it. Separate smoking room which you dont find anymore, which was great since it rained a lot during my trip. Polite and helpful service. A unique place i will definitely be staying at again in future travels.

Its an older place and seems to be reopened. If you need anything you can call the owner and he will come get you anything you need. Its has free laundry during hours, ice machine and my fave part..... a pool table! Its not a high end place but its where I will stay every time I'm in the area because I don't like the stuck up hotels that are always up your rear. ❤🙃
