We have been coming to the area for the past 15 or so years for the Indian Wells tennis tourney and have been staying at La Quinta Resort the last five years. The grounds are beautiful and very convenient to the tournament but the rooms are average (dated as others have commented on in their reviews). The main reason we come back and stay at the resort is the tennis - Kevin Connolly, Executive Tennis Director, is amazing and we followed him to La Quinta from the Omni Ranchos Las Palmas where he was also the Director of Tennis. The gym is also great and during the tournament a number of the pro players work out there so you get the opportunity to work out next to Paula Badosa and other pros. So overall, I highly recommend staying at the hotel.

I read another review that someone was given the wrong room which leads me to write a review as well. I had paid for the Hacienda Zia room at a rate of over 1K a night, instead I was given a much, much, much smaller room and they couldn't rectify the issue. What bothers me most is that I believe the check-in attendant knew that she was giving me the wrong room instead of telling me that my original booking was not available. They put us in a tiny room where my kids then said it smelled like someone was still staying there. The attendant that was suppose to help us with our luggage was hesitant to show us the proper route to our room and insisted that we should just use a map or get someone else to help us. He argued with my husband in front of my children and that made for an awkward moment. This room was rated at over $800 a night and it felt more like a motel than a 5 star hotel. The tennis courts are beautiful but when I asked if my kids could play in a clinic, there was a coach slouched over a chari and said my kids wouldn't have fun because the clinics are geared towards beginners. That was a let-down for my kids that they turned us off of it even before we started. It's unfortunate because the overall exterior grounds of the hotel are charming and the mountain setting is beautiful. It's too bad the rooms and service can't live up to the beautiful desert surroundings. The overall vibe of the staff was grumpy and confused without any proper training. We also stayed at the Indian Wells Grand Hyatt Indian Wells in one of their villas and it was beautiful, clean and the service was top-notch. Now I know where to go on our trip back to Indian Wells next year and hopefully the Hilton La Quinta can take some notes on how to treat their guests. Photos attached of our room and you can judge for yourself if it is a 5 star property.

This is a beautiful historic resort. The grounds are very well maintained with beautiful flowers, fruit trees and palm trees throughout the property. Gorgeous views of the mountains. There are pools everywhere. You can literally open your back door and there's a pool with privacy. There are larger pools as well with more people. It's a very large property, so be prepared to walk. There is a golf cart service that will pick you up and take to and from your room to different areas of the resort. But, often going back to your room there was a 15-20 min wait. It was very busy, so not sure sure that's the norm. It's a casual atmosphere, do I'd recommend sneakers or flats due to the walking. Everything closes early, by like 9pm. I did enjoy the fireplaces in the room. Made for a nice ambiance every night.

We have been coming to the BNP Paribas tennis tournament at Indian Wells for 20+ years. The main reason we continue to come back and stay at the La Quinta Resort and Spa is because of the tennis staff. Tennis Director Kevin Connolly and his team are top notch, the best.||We love to play tennis in the morning, enjoy watching the BNP in the afternoon, and have a great dinner out in the evening. We rinse and repeat that for 4-5 days. We love it!||Thanks again Kevin for making us feel so welcome!

We stay here every year as our kids attend a sports tournament nearby. It's a pretty dated/tired facility but we appreciate it as a good gathering spot for bigger groups. This year however was truly horrendous and I don't be returning. First and most unbelievably, we were given a room type different from what we reserved and nothing was done about it despite repeated communications to the hotel. I booked a room that was supposed to have a King bed AND sofabed pullout as I was sharing this room with my husband and our 12YO. The room we were assigned did not have a sofa. I messaged the hotel 3 times about it, they asked if I'd like the manager to call and I said yes, gave them my info and literally never heard a thing. This would be unacceptable for any guest but I am a Hilton Gold member which makes it all the more shocking. In addition, the refillable bath soap dispenser in our shower was empty which was an unfortunate discovery mid shower. Finally they have turned part of the hotel into some party spot sponsored by Amex which makes it loud and impossible to park anywhere the room. Add to this to the overall very tired condition of this resort and we will not be returning again.

Beautiful resort, rooms need a significant refresher. The grounds, tennis courts and gold are amazing at this sprawling resort. Inside, the rooms have heavy dark furniture and carpeting that needed to go a while ago. Shower was recently redone but drain was clogged (fixed promptly) but the deal killer was the stupid “antiscald” shower knob-never had more that a tepid shower (the sinks had hot water!); the worst shower experience I’ve had in years- the stupid button to control the warm water wouldn’t lock into place…||Restaurants ok astonishingly expensive ($28 for 4 shrimp cocktail, $15 for edamame) at 26; |($40 for 2 coffees and 2 breakfast sandwiches, which they forgot to make and 30+minutes later, after asking did, but of course coffee cold by then-Marketplace not optimal)||The gym is decently stocked but so tight-with all the space on this resort this could be improved. ||Spa and massages were great.

I always like to a positive person. So I will start out positive. The only two positives are the beautiful grounds at the resort and the food was above average. Now let the truth be told. The rooms are dated, dull and dreary if you can even find your room. There is no staff available to escort you to room. The map they give you is worthless and the signage around the hotel is useless. Once you eventually find your room - it will be disappointing. You probably can get a more updated room at the Palm Desert holiday inn. Other issues - The air conditioner in the room cannot go below 68 degrees Fahrenheit. We called the front desk to see if it can be lowered and was told “ No Can Do”. They said will can deliver a fan but There was no suitable outlet to plug it into. It’s the desert and it’s hot. 🥵 there should be a way to control the AC. Let’s move on to the outside pool areas. Each section has its own pool. And it’s nothing special - more like a municipal town pool which in my town the pool is nicer. Even the main pool at the resort is outdated. This hotel hasn’t been updated in like 30 years. I am not 100% sure how this place received a 4.2 rating - but I suggest reading others reviews and come to your own determination before booking.

Second time here and the same great experience. We stay in the casitas and may I say that they are very well put together. The landscape around the property is beautiful. Surrounded by the mountains, palm trees everywhere. It's truly beautiful. There are pools all over the property. Restaurants on site. Great atmosphere. Great vibes.
