Super friendly staff that made me feel totally comfortable asking a bunch of questions about the local area. He was super honest about how crappy the surf was and didn’t try to push me to waste my vacation on a bad surf. I liked the shop so much I got my wife a T-shirt from there.

Fair prices at this surf rental shop. The fella working there was friendly and helpful, offering great tips about surfing in San Diego and about the city itself. Shop has a nice atmosphere. Definitely recommend.

I don't like to leave bad reviews, but the owner that works here is so unfriendly and apparently burnt out on his job. He's in older guy, been working there forever and could care less about your business. He was so rude to my husband when he asked him specific questions about boards and when my husband told him he didn't need to be rude, he specifically told him to get out. Crazy that this place is still around. Read some of the other reviews and see that I am not the only one that had this interaction with him.

Rented two body boards and wetsuits, Oct 22. Two really nice young guys helped us out with the gear. We really enjoyed the service and the waves. We would recommend this stop for all your surf rental needs. Great 'by the hour' value!

Rented a longboard here. Prices are super fair - $12/hr for a foamie $15/hr for a hard board. They have all sorts of sizes and shapes going up to 10’0 if you want - I opted for a 9’0 EPS single fin - decent condition def water tight and very rideable. Nicholas hooked it up and showed me where the breaks are gave some good advice. Super nice dude and 10/10 would rent from again.

The gentleman which I think was the owner? He was super nice and gave such good advice for beginner surfing. He did not try to sell additional add ons or what so ever which I loved and very informative. Highly recommend anybody that wants to rent surf boards of any kind. I was able to enjoy my time and surfing due to this man.

Went out surfing with my boardless friend, decided we could snag him a rental here. Great quality boards and wetsuits stocked up, they had a perfect 9 foot foamie for him to try out surfing for the first time along with a 3-2 wetsuit. Had a lot of fun out, prices for the rentals are pretty good. Local vibe definitely present and likeable. Only thing is deposits are pretty high but they return 'em no problem. Thanks for giving us a great time La Jolla Surf Systems!

Reasonable prices and great service. The owner was extremely nice and helpful. He did all the required paper work fast and prepared everything in a great way. He also offered us to leave our bags with him for no extra charge, and then allow us to change our clothes back of the store. There are many similar stores around but I believe this guy was the best!
