Delicious lattes. We come here often. This time we had hot bake croissants with turkey and cheese, bowl of cheddar cheese broccoli soup. Yum. Only complaint is the staff here can quite rude. The only friendly person here is a young slim boy who buses tables on the weekends. He’s nice and welcoming every time.

This place is very charming and in a great location, however, the food is very low quality and low effort

I've been to this La Bou ("Near The Zoo") twice now, once in November and once this month. Both times, the food was subpar, however, the food was better in November

I got a panini both times, and maybe I should just learn better. In November, I got the Roast Beef & Cheese Melt. This time around, I got a Farmhouse Panini, which is just a grilled cheese with deli sliced ham and an egg.

Both sandwiches cost over $10 but both were the equivalent of $3 to $5 sandwiches found at small airport cafes. Just very disappointing to pay $10 for a sandwich that costs around $1 to make max and tastes about average

I get this place is not known for its food, but it could at least drop the price for items like this...

I went around 2pm on a Wednesday and it was pretty quiet, which was nice. The food was good, but I did wish the chicken club panini with avocado had a bit more flavor - it was as if there was no flavor added until I used the sauce which came on the side. The Thai chicken soup was nice but also could have been a bit more flavorful. Overall I had a nice experience and would visit again.

I LOVE La Bou By The Zoo!!! They are my absolute favorite place to go. Every single time I go I always get the basil chicken panini, it cannot be beat. I've tried other items in the menu and those are always good too. I highly recommend this place, I love the people there and the atmosphere it's so nice there!

I say this with love because we patronize this cafe regularly, but the coffee quality has really gone down lately. It is bitter and burnt tasting, even in a latte (!). The coffee quality was never the highest, just sort of middling - but now it's just simply bad. Please work on the coffee and I will certainly update my rating!

This review is ONLY as to the croissants and the raisin custard pastry. I remember the AMAZING pastries from years ago--just like France. Not now. Flaccid croissants and limp custard wheels, barely baked (no discernible custard), with no differentiation from bready stuff. The lamination is poor, it does not taste authentic. Sorry, I've tried to patronize this place but after several recent tries I cannot in good conscience say this place is worth the money for these (expensive) items. Cannot comment on the food otherwise.

A nice spot to stop for lunch or a snack after a visit to the Sac Zoo and a stroll or bike ride through William Land Park.Clean, comfortable, plenty of outdoor seating as well as a pleasant interior, friendly staff, great food and a nice experience all around. I ordered the BLTA on toasted wheat bread, and a my spouse enjoyed her Pan Turkey Sandwich which had all the fixings of a complete Thanksgiving dinner tucked inside. We shared a huge Asian Pasta Salad, were not sure we could finish it all, but kept on nibbling until it was all gone. Premises are well maintained, and the restrooms are clean as a pin. I look forward to a return visit to try other things they have to offer.
