The owner, Jerry is dishonest and takes advantage of travelers with hidden fees and rate changes. The restrooms are disgusting and not cleaned daily , weekly or monthly. You are also charged to shower, which took $5.00 of quarters. There is a garbage dump exposed under a carport with rats everywhere. The entire grounds are sprayed several times throughout spring and summer with Roundup. The permanent resident referred to as deputy dog or camo man, let's say...loves his alcohol and enjoys stalking the women.
It's sketchy at best. It should be forced to shut down due to very questionable activity taking place. Highly NOT RECOMMENDED!!! Just ask locals about the place, it's 1 star higher than Sunset RV Park.

We were going to stay there long term. Stayed for one month for $820 dollars. We were made to move once a week, including 6 days dry camping right next to the raw sewage he has bubbling up from the uneven land that he parked us on. We are renting the trailer and don't own a truck, so we were moved wherever he wanted to put us. Despite the fact that the checkout time is noon, he was banging on the door by 9am for us to unhook and get the slides in so he could move us. In our first dry camp, we were parked with our steps directly over the sewage. The stink was so bad we had to get in the car and leave. The next dry camp, he parked us about 6 feet away. My son and I just stayed in the car for 4 days that time. Also, I told him the first time that we could not even run a fan or anything to keep cool. There were shady places to dry camp, but he parked us on a piece of slanted land in an open field with no shade. It was almost 100 in the trailer. The trailer is brand new, and the batteries were charged, but for the outlets to work, it needs to be plugged in. It was a pretty park, but the stay was pretty miserable, the bathrooms are nasty, the price changes each time you talk to the owner and there is a lot of riff raff in and out of the park.

We just spent 4 days here with our 35’ 5th wheel. What a lovely site! Campsites are spread apart, with lawn and trees between. It’s a quiet, small RV park, with easy access and good hookups. The owner was very helpful when we arrived, even cutting back some overhead branches to increase clearance. And the Dahlia garden is amazing!! If we are in the area, we will definitely come back to this campground!

This is my third time coming to the Klaskanine River RV Park. Before the first time I found a very negative review telling about the owner changing the price after getting there. So, I asked for written confirmation concerning dates and the price. I wish I had done the same this time. I told him we had three kids with us this time and there is where the problem started when we got there. While making the reservation I asked him what the daily rate were and I wrote it down. When we got there he charged us extra for four children (we only brought three). I showed him his quoted daily rate that I had wrote down while making the reservation. All he wanted to do was argue with me. He didn’t even refund me for the invisible fourth kid! The camper next to us told me that he charged them for an extra car. As soon as we got there an old man that lives there asked my husband to drive him to the store. He bought booze and cigarettes. At this point I don’t feel that the children are safe walking to the restroom by themselves. It is definitely NOT a family park. I will never stay at this place again!

We rented a tent site in the afternoon. As we were getting ready to put up our tent, we changed our mind. It was just too hot (100+°) to tent camp that night. The owner was gracious enough to refund our money without issues.

If you are looking for the peace of camping in the country on a river, this is the place!!! I stayed here for a week with my family and our RV and 2 tents. It was beautiful and tranquil with the river in the background..nothing like waking up to deer just feet from your tent and the sound of the river was breathtaking. There is a small park for the kids to play and a lot of place for them to run. The RV site was huge and we had all the hookups we needed. We were just about 10 miles from the beach and there was fishing places everywhere in the area. Up the road about 2 miles was an elk reserve and we were able to go many times just to watch all the herds and babies. We even saw a pure white elk...what a treat. There are also huge waterfalls both up the road about 5 miles and down the road about 2 miles from the RV park. We will be back without a doubt. The people who own the park are fabulous and they gave us all of the information we needed to find all of the gems in this area. The grounds were clean and they spend a lot of time and upkeep on the property. The bathrooms and showers were always clean. The prices were posted and when we called to make reservations they asked what we had as far as RV and tents and how many people would be staying for how long. It was a very simple transaction and they take credit cards...Easy as pie! Awesome place to stay!

I came here on a whim, from the great southern land of Georgia, which apparently some people in Oregon have never heard of... After taking a seasonal job in the area for the summer... Upon arriving, the owner greeted me, and before he had to ask, I paid him the $20 for the night, mentioning that I might decide to stay for a few months. He said he would give me two nights to decide. ||||After the second night after having explored the entire property, I decided to go ahead and pay the price for the full month.. ||||The months that I stayed there, it was a roller coaster ride of adventure. I met some of the local flora and fauna, and was consumed with my overtime job... but in the meantime, this place offered me a place to reside in, and camp... and despite a few scares, I felt safe. ||||It WAS scary though.. I was tent camping, and for the better part of the summer( JUne, July, AUgust-Sep....)))), I was the ONLY person camping... by myself, alone, next to a well known salmon stream, by a main highway with no gates or fences or anything.... I found myself waking up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat, sometimes paralyzed with fear, and other times walking out of the tent wth my hatchet just to see a herd of deer, or salmon run at the river( in late summer)||||||The WEATHER is perfect, NO MOSQUITOES at all, and NO TICKS.. it was a miracle for me as a Georgia Boy to have seen this... The rain can almost not at all, two or three times at all did it rain... and mostly near the beginning of the summer. The Temperature here is like 70-80 during the day in the summer, and breezy ,and at night in the upper to mid 60's.. EVERY DAY for like 3 months straight... It truly is a paradise, weather wise. ||||Not to mention there is a crazy awesome state, county, and local fair not too far away, and the ocean just within a stones throw.. and good stores, lots of groceries and such nearby...||||||My one discount to this place is that the owners for the most part try to run it as a business and it's sort of like a secret society, so if you're in , you are in, and if you're out they will evict you.. I never got evicted, but I did see like 3 other people/families get kicked out during my stay there,.....But it was for local jurisdiction reasons, which I understand...||||I met both of the owners personally and they are nice and kind, but also very smart... Over all a GREAT place to stay and I CAN'T WAIT to go back!

In a near panic we were desperate to find an RV park near Astoria and were having no luck. That was until we found Klaskanine RV Park. I read reviews and was a bit nervous, but, had no choice. The owner was very nice on the phone and I felt better about it. We found it after getting lost 🙁 and pulled in to discover it was an RV park behind the owners house. Looked like people were living there but I try not to judge. We had a lovely spot facing a huge flat grassy area alongside the river. Giant play area and beautiful flowers all around us. Yay! We pulled in and hooked up and stayed 2 nights. Really convenient to Astoria 11 miles away and it was very quiet and homey. Felt great to be there and nothing like I imagined. I would recommend this place to people who want out of the big, crowded parks. Full hookups too! Small part of the river is accessible behind the park.
