The most impressive aspect of our experience with KFAD was the crew’s - Marie, Kevin, Dan, Skylar - Professionalism. ||We visited KFAD twice on our trip. First, was to do the ½ day rafting-fishing guided trip. Second, we returned to camp, and I did the onshore fishing guided tour. Both times, we caught nice sockeyes. Our experience was fabulous, great learning experiences, and exceeded our expectations! (despite the timing being toward the end of the season – August).||Situated right on the river, it was safe, fun and quiet. Facilities were clean. Just beautiful. Definitely- We’ll be back! (..and do both guided trips - rafting/fishing AND the on-shore guided fishing tour).

My son and I did the 3 hours of fishing for Copper River Sockeye Salmon with a guide. Our guide was extremely helpful in teaching us how to “floss” for Sockeye. We had a great time and had several great Sockeye meals for our family with our catch. This is a good option if you are unfamiliar with fishing for Sockeye. Their price is much more reasonable than other local options. Plus, it’s only 3 hours… which is nice if you want to go fishing for Sockeye while in Alaska, but don’t want to spend an entire day fishing.

Great campground with excellent access to the river. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. Guides would come by from time to time and give tips for fishing as well. Seems to be a well run operation. Having a male 240V to female 120V plug would have been helpful as we were about 5 feet short on our power cord so had to put the camper in the middle of the site, but there was still sufficient room for all 6 of us.

We had a great stay. Camp hosts were extremely friendly, helpful and brought us a picnic table for our site when they noticed us setting up. While I didn't fish, our kids did well with plenty of choice spots to fish from. There are several fish cleaning stations with water. Will stay here again for sure. Enjoyed the full hookups while being in such a rustic setting.

We absolutely LOVE camping at King for a day in copper Center. This is our 3rd year coming back and getting our same spot too! The staff are so kind and helpful. Bathrooms & showers are great. They are kept really clean. The river fishing is awesome! The guides are the best in the area. Very knowledgeable about fishing and the river. Highly recommend staying here. You won’t be disappointed! Can’t wait for next year!

Was told that they were big rig accessible. I wrote an email and called when reserving our spot to ask this question. I was even sent instructions on how best to come into the campground from the Richardson Hwy. Pulled off the highway and I knew immediately that there was going to be problems. I had to swerve to avoid low hang branches all the way to the office. I thought maybe this is not their property and could not control the maintenance schedule. But once I got to the office I knew that it was going to take work to get out. I was pulling my 45’ fifth wheel and have a class a license with lots of experience with specialty cargo and 90’ stretch trailers. After a bad experience in my 30’ snowmobile trailer and a rental house I always carry a 16’ pole saw. My wife and I had to cut our way out of this campground. I have a 2023 grand design momentum with an almost 13,000 dollar full body paint job. Slide toppers and 4 awnings. So you know I am not going to let branches drag down the side of my rig. It took an hour and half of cutting to exit this place. |Lastly the owner really was quite oblivious to the situation and who I thought was here adult son behind the office/ residence smoking copious amounts of dope. All I could smell was cannabis. They refunded me my deposit. But not after trying to convince us to pull down to the river to a pull through (water and electricity only)site. I was not going to cut my way any further into this place. Do not go here in anything bigger than a 25’ travel trailer and you don’t mind pot heads.
