No chain hotels in this area and we picked the Keyser Inn due to its proximity to the Potomac Eagle Scenic Railway in one direction and Blackwater Falls State Park in the other. The hotel is older, but carpeting is new and the rooms are up to date and clean. One of the first things I learned was that there is NO ELEVATOR to the second floor. So if this is a problem for you, drive up to the Cumberland area for a hotel with an elevator. If you like to walk for exercise, it’s easy to walk around the hotel parking lot safely, plus there is a little walking path around a medical building next door.

This hotel was great for the price. The bed was comfortable, the pillows were soft, the room was clean. It is well built to keep other room noise out. We heard talking from other rooms by us while walking down the hall, but once we closed our door, we heard nothing. |The breakfast was continental: breads, pastry, cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, bagels, tea, coffee, all fresh. |The only complaint we had is that the water pressure in the shower was pretty low. It was ok for me, but my husband hated it.

I found the Keyser Inn only a half hour from Romney where we were going to take the train ride. It had good reviews and was a decent price. When we got there we found out there is no elevator to the second floor. A long flight of stairs to our room. The room was clean and the staff was friendly but I have a bad knee and dragging our bags up the stairs was very hard. The trip to Romney is over the mountains so if you don’t like a lot of ups, downs and curves it isn’t a good idea to stay in Keyser. People who know the roads will get right in your bumper and there aren’t a lot of places to pull off and let them by.

Not a bad stay at all room was alittle small for my liking but I had myself my wife and a newborn. Staff was super friendly. Breakfast was average but honestly the friendly and super helpful staff made the stay worth it. I will say the Mrs had a few bites on her legs may have had bedbugs but not 100% sure but some other people had brought it up as well.

Stayed here while my wife and I were visiting friends in Keyser. We called in advance to let them know we were coming in from out of town, and would likely arrive before regular check in times, and they went out of their way to get the room prepared when we arrived. Great service, and friendly staff, and very clean rooms.

The price had gone up but was still reasonable. The breakfast that is included is extremely limited in offerings. Room was clean. It is a basic hotel with few amenities at a decent price.
