We enjoyed a super delicious lunch including chili with sweet potatoes (just the right amount of kick), a Bauman sandwich, local guava pineapple kombucha, and a decorated hot chocolate. service is great esp after it took us several minutes to order to pick from all the offerings.
They offer gluten free and vegan pastries, great coffee concoctions and a menu of several salads, sandwiches, and soup and, of course CHILI!
The ambiance is very relaxed, with accessible indoor seating, and outdoor seating that offers a view of the park and busy Adams avenue. We chose the fresh air outdoor seating, a good choice today. Kids highchairs and booster seats available.
Accessible entry/exit and accessible venue with accessible tables. Accessible restroom with grab bars and 3ft x 3ft space.
Accessible street parking with curb cuts at intersections, and Kensington is on the corner.
Great service!

You must try Kensington Cafe if you’re in the area. It was chilly but I ate outside because inside was packed. I got to do some great people watching as people walked by and enjoyed the day with dogs or children. The food came out quickly and was delicious. I got something off the specials- the hot honey chicken and waffle. The chicken was flavorful and crispy and the hot honey was not too hot but added a nice contrast to the sweetness of the berries and waffle. The waffle was super fluffy and had the most incredible flavor. I didn’t even really need the butter or syrup because it tasted so good. I also had a white chocolate mocha and it was perfection. Really enjoyed my brunch here and would definitely return.

Nicest staff! My son and I went in there for a latte and pastry and the staff were super friendly and polite. It’s hard to find good customer service these days, especially when you have a small child with you. The latte and pastries were delicious also. Highly recommend!

I had the seasonal peach burrata toast today and it was incredible! I have also tried several other things on the menu for breakfast and lunch, sweet and savory and have never been disappointed. I absolutely love the staff here! The service is always amazing and the atmosphere is so positive. The patio is dog friendly and they are always the sweetest to my pups.

Nice brunch at Kensington Cafe. We sat on the dog friendly patio, which is still comfortable even in the rain. We ordered the pulled pork hash scramble and the surf rider albacore tuna melt with Swiss cheese and pasta salad. The staff is very friendly and the food comes quick. Really nice location, great for walking around after.

Located on Adams Avenue in the Kensington neighborhood of San Diego, this cafe is a great gathering place to grab a bite to eat and catch up with family and friends. Seating is available inside and on the patio. Free street parking is available and can be hard to find depending on the time of day. The service is friendly and courteous. We both had the Gouda Grilled Cheese with apricot preserves and caramelized onions. We chose to add bacon to have some protein and the salad for the side. We loved the flavors of the sandwich. The mixed greens had a delicious dressing. We ordered a kids quesadilla and black beans for my grandson. We also ordered a carrot/zucchini vegan muffin to go.
