I grew up going to Ken’s, and I’m very happy that it’s now just a short drive from me!

My mom would always take me to Ken’s to pick out chuck roast for post roast dinners, of course you have to get their $1 chicken legs as well which is great for a easy cheap dinner night.

My partner and I really like their NY strip steaks, especially since they are on the thicker side and they let you pick out your steaks. They just have a great range of meats for you to pick out! I feel like a kid in a candy store (but it’s meat! 😂)

They always sell these super thick asparagus stalks so I always go there if we are having asparagus for dinner, and we love their muffins! I just had a one of their Lemon Poppyseed muffins today and it was so good! I usually have to split it up in to quarters because they are giant.

The service there has always been top notch in my experiences of going there, always greeted with a smile and the service is fast and efficient.

Ken's is like quaint mix between a butcher and a convenience store. My wife and I had heard that is good so we decided to stop by and it was a very cute place to visit.

I got some steak sirloins and some hamburger to to grill. I enjoyed both the steak and the burger. The burger was great on the grill and the steak was affordable and wasn't just all fatty like some butchers do.

My wife loved the options in the bakery section. She bought a cranberry apple muffin that she loved! So try one of those.

They also have donuts pies and much more.

They have a great prepared section that had some great options. Like ribs, the ribs looked so good but I'll have to get them next time.

They do have a convenience store section that has the normal Staples that you would get from a much larger grocery store that also who is very handy is very handy when you're stopping in.

Every time we go to Madison we always stop at Ken's on the way back home to Chicago. The best place for brat's and burgers. The BEST

Terrible customer service, specifically was lied to by I believe her name was Sophia (I could be wrong). I called asking if they sold breaded chicken cutlets and Sophia said yes we do. I proceeded to ask if they were ready made or need to be cooked. She repeated the chicken needs to be cooked. My daughter drove 30 mins to buy some just to find out this is an item they do NOT sell. I call to see if there is a miss understanding and the girl proceeds to tell me that she said pork chops not chicken. And that she doesn’t recall me calling 30 mins prior. Completely disappointed with the miss information and them not owning up to it and flat out lying to cover it up.

I went specifically for the Dawn's potato salad. 1 slice of cheesecake for $8! A whole pie for $21? Com'on, $15 I'd pay but $21 is just too steep for my wallet. They were friendly though and the meat case looks amazing. I've heard great stuff about the steaks. Maybe next time.

Phenomenal sandwich bar. Watched my meal created right in front of me using premium, fresh ingredients. You'll pay half of what you would at a chain sandwich shop these days. Took a cursory look at their meats while I was waiting, everything looked amazing. Clean, very friendly staff, will be back again and again.

Reminds me of the old school deli shops growing up that sadly have vanished, all the cuts of meat are amazing, cookies are great, you can get a sandwich made fresh with around 15 different varieties for 4$, also has many amazing pastas! If you love great food this is the place, the staff are so friendly too. Go at least once a week to stock up on various items.

3 years later after the first review, this is still the best deli in town!

I drive a long way and generally disregard price tags to get their meat when we are having a gathering. To us, the burgundy pepper steak, grand champion brats, and any of the pork is the best around. Plenty of other good products there too. It would be easy to throw together a fantastic meal at the last minute with their selection. Super friendly, helpful, and fast too.
