Cabins:|We stayed in both Cabin 3 and Cabin 4 and had a truly enjoyable experience. Cabin 4 was spacious, perfect for a group, while Cabin 3 had a cozy, charming vibe, ideal for three guests. However, Cabin 3 was a bit warm as it only has one window, so we left the door slightly open at night. The generator runs from 5 AM to 11 PM, and both cabins are near it, but we quickly adapted to the sound and hardly noticed it after a while.||Location:|The location is unbeatable! You’re within walking distance of stunning hikes, such as the trails to Relief Reservoir and Kennedy Lake, with countless other hiking options just a short drive away. The property itself sits right on the river, making it a paradise for fishing enthusiasts and perfect for cooling off with a dip or exploring the banks.||Restaurant:|We dined at the restaurant for two dinners and one breakfast. Overall, the food was great and reasonably priced. The green beans and chicken soup (which seemed to come from a can) were not our favorite, as we typically avoid canned foods at restaurants, but it did fit the cowboy theme.||Horse Tours:|Though we didn’t participate in the horse tours, as a family who rides regularly, we could tell the horses here are very well cared for and in excellent condition. I would highly recommend their trail rides for anyone interested, especially the tour to Kennedy Lake, which is said to be magical.||Service:|The only downside to our stay was the customer service. From management to the wait staff, most people seemed a bit grumpy, and we often felt like we were bothering them when asking questions or placing additional food orders. It could be due to the late season, with staff likely tired from the summer rush.||If the service were more welcoming, I would easily give this place five stars. However, despite that, I still highly recommend this spot—it’s a unique and wonderful destination that’s well worth visiting!

Safety was not the staff’s priority when we went horseback riding.

There were 3 adults and 2 kids in our group and they tried to have us all get on our horses at the same time. One horse bucked, which caused another horse to buck, and as a result my mother more has a broken ankle.

The homophonic “LGBT- liberty, guns, beer and Trump” sticker also made me feel unsafe, as a queer person.

The horses were sweet and the views are breathtaking but I won’t be back until they start prioritizing client safety.

Was camped nearby. Rode in for lunch. Restaurant and store pricing very fair. Food was great. Selection at store great. Store sells beer in single cans ( great for pct hikes and campers nearby).

One of my favorite places in the world.
Service was fabulous. We went on a horse back ride. A day trip. About 7 hours into Kennedy lake area had lunch and back out. The sweetest most patient young lady lead is in and back. All the cowboys at the stable were very helpful and courteous. Absolutely gorgeous up in those mountains. Had breakfast at the restaurant. Excellent service.

It was our first time at KM. What a. beautiful place. We did the half day trip with Sara. We had a lovely day. Bring lots of water and sunscreen. The horses all well cared for and easy to ride. Sara was great and very attentive to everyone's different needs. I really enjoyed the uphill but was nervous on the downhill which is quite steep and rocky. The horses were sure footed of course and do the trail often. My advice is don't look down, just lean back. 🙂

Great Place nestled in the California Sierra. We visited on a Monday and Tuesday to avoid the weekend crowds which are crazy. Camping, Hiking, Nature Viewing and Fishing.

Weather is not a concern mostly but pack a light jacket for the occasional afternoon sprinkles and early morning chill.

Once we have arrived here we literally park our truck and walk from camp to fishing holes to store to restaurant to trailheads to showers to restrooms and the two creeks.

I have had the privilege over the last 25 years of spending many spring, summer and fall days and nights at this place and love the workers, volunteers and the owner who place the highest priority on keeping the authenticity of the pack station and natural forest intact.
