We stayed for a week in the Sourdough Suite and our friends stayed across the hall in the Silver Salmon Suite. The accomodations were comfortable and more spacious than it looks in the pictures! Kitchens were well appointed and the outdoor grilling & chilling deck was spectactular - gorgeous view of the river with privacy. Staying on the river was a treat for us as we enjoyed the convenience of fishing on the private bank. Marv and Janet were amazing - friendly, helpful and funny!

This is an annual visit for us every year for fishing on the Kenai River. There are only 3 rooms, but they are all great. The 2 upstairs have the best view of the river. There is over 100 feet of river front for fishing. Depending on the time of the year the fishing can be spectacular. Marv & Janet are very accommodating to your needs, but you can be very independent here. Both upstairs units have a full living room, bath and bedroom. It is more like an efficiency apartment than anything. There is a washer & dryer as well. Great place and great people!

Alaskan staycation. You plan to fish for the day and drive home. But the fishing is good and you are not ready to leave. We lucked out when we found the Kenai River Retreat and we were treated like lifetime friends. Marv and Janet have a beautiful property. Janet was very communicative and welcoming. We stayed in the one bed unit. It is furnished with a queen bed, bathroom, refrigerator, microwave, cable, recliner and bbq grill. The gazebo outside was so cute and inviting. I wish we could stay longer. |Our one night stay was home away from home. We didn’t want to leave. The path to the river is boardwalked and easy to find. It made fishing in the rain and dark so much fun. 60 step staircase between the river and property is beautifully lit when it’s dark. I can’t wait to return!

We have been staying here for years. It is like going home every year. Marve & Janet go out of their way to ensure your stay is as good as it can be. We come here for the fishing, but enjoy the other guests and owners every year. The rooms are more like apartments than rooms. Deck overlooking the river, living room, full kitchen, bedroom and bath. This is a perfect place with 3 rooms available, so it is never crowded.

All I can say is wow! We spent 4 nights here. The hosts, Marv and Janet, were super friendly and provided everything needed for a comfortable stay. If you fish, there are rods, reels, boots, nets, etc etc provided for your use. If you get lucky fishing there are even freezers provided for your catch. We loved sitting out under the gazebo at night with a drink and just looking out at the river. The studio was perfect for a couple. Hope to come back again soon!

Once again our stay was memorable. This is a very special place with very special hosts! The apartment has everything you need and the river view is spectacular ||Marv and Janet are warm and friendly and responsive to your needs.

This is an annual stop for us every year. It is a quaint, quiet place off the beaten path. They have three rooms available...two suites upstairs and one smaller place downstairs. The view is awesome as you sit up high overlooking the world famous Kenai River. The one draw back is the stairs going down (and back up) to the river. There are 60 steps to go down to the edge of the river, so if you are NOT capable of doing stairs and need to go the edge of the river, I would not recommend this place. It is great exercise for those that can handle stairs and well worth the trip down to the water. The owners, Marve & Janet, will go out of their way to ensure you have a great stay at their facility.

Kenai River Retreat is situated in a beautiful place on the Kenai River and the accommodations provide a stunning view of the river. The rooms are spotless and equipped with everything one might need. Janet is lovely and very helpful. We had a wonderful time.
