A fantastic experience! John was friendly, insightful, enthusiastic and really loves his job! We caught salmon and trout utilizing his expertise with different rods and lures. He got you all suited up so that you are ready for any type of weather or fishing outside the boat. The water, mountain views and wildlife were absolutely breathtaking! We would highly recommend this excursion!!

We can’t say enough about the fantastic experience with Kenai River Float-n-Fish. Two guys were fishing and two gals were floating and John made it super fun for all of us. He’s extremely knowledgeable about the river and the ecosystem, as well as professional and FUN! The boat was quite comfortable and I always felt very safe with our captain in control. After a two week rv trip through Alaska and enjoying a variety of activities, we all landed on this excursion as our favorite. Highly recommend!

We had the most incredible experience with Kenai River Float-n-Fish. The fishing itself was fantastic - we caught more fish then we could count in 4-hours (over 100!), including sockeye salmon, rainbow trout, dolly varden trout, and mountain whitefish. And we saw bald eagles right along the river, including a baby!
We love to fish - but what set this trip apart was John and Heather (the owners) who were so kind and helpful to our entire family. John made sure that every person in our group of all ages had so much fun. He is just a great person who has so many amazing stories to tell - and he also happens to be a heck of a fisherman too.
We made a long trek from Oregon but we'll be back to do some fishing hopefully in the future! Definitely go with Kenai River Float-n-FIsh if you fish the Kenai with a guide. We are so grateful for the experience that we had and that our kids will remember forever.

Had an awesome time on this fishing trip! We spent 12 days in Alaska, and this was the highlight of the trip. From the beginning, Heather was very helpful for booking the right trip for us. John worked hard all day between paddling the boat, retying different lures, teaching us different techniques to try, and finding the best places to fish. He definitely made it a very fun and positive experience for us, and it was nearly non-stop action all day - we lost count how many fish we caught. And the scenery was incredible everywhere along the Upper Kenai River. I also appreciate that he took the time to clean up trash left by another group, helping to keep the area pristine when others had been disrespectful. Really great family business - I highly recommend.

John knows everything about Kenai river being in the area for over 20 years. Went on the trip with family of four and John worked hard to make sure everyone caught fish. We caught trouts and dolly vardens with different techniques. We also "flossed" two sockeye salmons that fed our friends and us for two days, even though it was between runs in early July. Great conversations about nature and the local environment. The float itself was beautiful and relaxing. We saw quite a few bald eagles, and floated under one that eventually took off on top of us.

This was one of our best experience in Alaska and definitely a highlight of the trip. John is a super cool guide. He’s so knowledgeable and patient. Helped us noobies caught 6 fishes in just a half day trip. Definitely seeing him again for ice fishing if we come back in the winter.

What an awesome day! One of the best days on our Alaskan trip. John was was an excellent guide and very patient. I had no experience fishing, but he taught us a bunch of different types of fishing/lures and we caught lots of fish! We caught a large Sockeye salmon that feed my husband and I for four large dinners. Added bonus of a beautiful float down the river
