I've wanted to visit this area ever since I read a guide book from 2009 on traveling the back roads of Washington. It mentioned driving on FS 23 from Randle to Trout Lake for 58 miles, 11 miles of that is gravel and some of it is 1 lane with pull outs (2 hours). My husband and I got to do that this summer. Waiting at the end of our travel down FS 23 was Kelly and Marilyn's place. It is still like what all the reviewers say - so welcoming, friendly, anything you might need, they have. Loved all the things to look at in their inn. Fell in love with the glass rabbit lamp. We also were the only ones there (can't believe it) so they offered us the upstairs Creekside room. So sweet and roomy with a sitting area with comfortable couch. The house in general is very inviting and nice and cool in the hot weather. The couch in living room must be new as it is comfortable. They do not do the full breakfasts that others mentioned but the muffins and coffee are very good. For the dog lovers they now have a new puppy that keeps the older dog company. There is a new horse which is a rescued mustang and a very long legged cat. I found the creek so enchanting with its little waterfalls and pools. The grounds are lovely with chairs of various sorts and lounging ones, too. The outside kitchen is still there with a fridge! Flowers were beautiful. Marilyn told us the history of their place, how they took it over and they were both genuinely interested in what we had planned. I could have frankly just stayed there the whole time and enjoyed their place. But the Conboy Lake NWR is great if you like nature and bird watching and give FS 23 a try, either way, going N or S on your travels here, after the snow melts. And if you do go on 23 you must stop at Tahklahk Lake for the VIEWS of Mt Adams!! Good idea to call ranger station before you go.We had a nice meal at the very interesting Trout Lake Country Inn, a mile from the b & b. Kelly and Marilyn don't have cell phones and are not much into techy stuff so Marilyn was so surprised and pleased to hear about the lovely reviews that we had read about and passed on to her.||

We really enjoyed our stay. Like most thru hiker-oriented places, it's big on personality. There are 3 rooms, a great hot tub and a grill. For hikers without a car, it is walking distance to the restaurant and market in town. The hosts are great and willing to help out with hiker-specific demands (like laundry). The hotel is a bit dark and the mattresses could use replacement, but the rates are great and it's everything a hiker could want such as one free load of laundry. They no longer serve full breakfast, but provide muffins only.

A very relaxed and accommodating Inn to unwind in/around. The creek was great for wading/sitting on a hot summer day. The home is easy to get to and has many comforts of home (including homemade muffins and hot coffee in the morning). The owners are informative, willing to share their knowledge of the area and offer suggestions if asked. They are equally willing to spend evening time talking with guests or leave you to your own devices. There is wifi for those who want to stay connected. The home is cozy and the outside BBQ/eating area, lawn and hot tub are inviting.

Great small town country experience. Very nice rooms, beautiful lrunning brook and waterfalls right off the balcony. Very quiet and peaceful. Short walk to downtown Trout Lake, which consists of a general store and the cafe/gas station. Close to Mt Adams and would be nice stay during hunting season. Kelly and his wife were wonderful hosts!

My daughter and I just returned from a wonderful overnight at Kelly's B&B. We are already planning a return trip this summer. Hosts Kelly and Marilyn were wonderful. They attended to our needs and questions without hovering. They also made us feel like their home was our home. I had many trips to and from the kitchen to refrigerate or fetch our drinks and snacks. While all the rooms are nice, I highly recommend the upstairs suite. We enjoyed listening to and looking at the falls and the view. The circular staircase was a fun way to go from upstairs to ground level. p.s. the breakfast was wonderful, and we appreciated coffee and hot water for tea offered throughout our stay.

I was in town for a race and stayed here for 3 nights. I felt at home immediately. The Camelot room was comfy and loved that I had my own bathroom. Post race soaking in the creek and then the claw foot tub (a shared bath) was icing in the cake. The Huckleberry muffins were delicious and I drank my fair share of coffee of tea. Kelly and Marilyn were gracious hosts and helpful/informative with any questions I had about the area. I will come back:)) Free wifi, but no cell service if you don't have AT&T or Verizon.

I stayed at Kelly's Trout Creek Inn on the 24th July this year, before going to the ECETI ranch the next day. It's in the middle of nowhere in the most beautiful, pristine area of Trout Lake. I did not see ONE piece of litter in a 7 day period! ||Kelly and Marilyn are very welcoming. I stayed in the Camelot room which was a tad too small for my ridiculous amount of luggage! But I can't complain as the guest house was so charming. It's situated RIGHT on a wonderful waterfall/creek and ALL you can hear at night is thundering water! I slept like a log! Marilyn does do a yummy breakfast! Very very tasty! Do eat it right by the creek if you can. Everything in the room is spotlessly clean. There is also a gorgeous dog that is very friendly! A bonus in my view! (Being dog and cat bonkers!) I would deffo stay there again. Advice, if you need food other than burgers or smoothies at night, drive half an hour into White Salmon. Great place.

I only had one night in Trout Lake, this was a great place to spend it. Very relaxed, comfortable bed, Kelly provided tips on where to grab dinner. I needed to depart early in the morning, but found muffins and freshly made coffee waiting for me in the kitchen before I left. Definitely a great place to stay!
