We were just passing through and decided to try this place out.

Come one come all! Kelly's bar& Grill is the spot to come grab a delicious meal with your choice of beer or drink. One of the oldest bars in the state with a house full of wonderful staff 👏 come check it out for yourself and order a yummy hamburger 🍔!

Walked in and was quickly seated. They had a good variety of beer on draft. My wife got a chicken veggie sandwich and I got the mushroom Swiss burger. We were both pleasantly surprised, the portions were very generous and the food quality was quite good. One of the better burgers that I’ve had lately. We were both very happy with our meals, and the waitress was perfectly attentive. I would highly recommend this place.

Great service. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Parmesan fries were delicious and crispy. Kelly burger was amazing definitely big enough to share. Steak bites were good, nicely cooked and seasoned/fried. Cheese dip was good a little sweet. Overall a great meal.

My son and I have recently been coming here for lunch every weekend. The staff have all been very welcoming and friendly. My son's go-to is the cheeseburger with fries....he loves it. I have had the Cheese steak the Quesadillas and a couple different soup of the day...beef barley and potato. EVERYTHING was super tasty. The quesadillas are not too spicy the lovely bean and chicken mixture. The potato soup was absolutely amazing. It was rich and creamy.. with a nice light cheese flavor and loaded down with bacon. Looking forward to trying something new on our next visit.

This is a great small town restaurant and bar. Lots of TV's for sports viewing. Super friendly servers. Daily specials are always a good suggestion. The jalapeno smash burger is delicious and they won't over cook it. The chicken salad is flavorful and filling. My wife took 1/2 home for a second meal. The Reuben is delicious and the meat is tender. My friend upgrades double meat and ends up taking half home. I love the shoestring fries the best, but others in my group liked the other options. I'm looking forward to my next meal at Kelly's.

This is my favorite restaurant in downtown Newport. The menu is surprisingly extensive and i've eaten there multiple times but three times in the past week. Everything I've gotten is good. They have quite an extensive beer selection on tap as well as cocktails. Big outdoor patio that is dog friendly. Free Wi-Fi. The staff is very friendly and happy to answer any questions you have.

EDIT Sept. 2024. I don't know what happened but service has steadily declined with this place. I'm not sure if they're struggling to find staff or what but I was just in, waited for 20 minutes and nobody came up to me at all. I'm guessing they're understaffed, but I'm not sure I'm going back to this place again. There are other options in Newport where the service is still great.
