My daughter and I had such a nice stay at Kangaroo House. Charles and Jill are so friendly and welcoming, they made us feel right at home. We enjoyed the hot tub (sign ups available to ensure only one party uses it at a time) and being able to choose an evening cup of tea from the assortment available. Our room was sweet and comfy and the breakfast was simply out of this world! Thank you Jill and Charles for hosting us!

Went to the island as part of our honeymoon and chose this place as the place to stay. It did not disappoint. The breakfast made with love and care by the management couple is not one to miss out on! It was seriously amazing! All the other guests there were older couples, so we were the only young ones there, but everyone was so nice. The room is small, but there are so many things to do on the island, you won't want to stay inside much anyway. The gardens are beautiful and the hot tub is nice. Seriously, that breakfast though. A 3 course meal, made with fresh ingredients and their own recipes, including, and this will sound odd, a breakfast pizza that was so amazing! |If you need disabilities to be accounted for, unfortunately there are stairs with no alternative that I was aware of. However, the experience is still amazing! Seriously loved it, and me and my wife were still talking about it weeks later. |We even still think about it, nearly 9 months later, and I decided to write a review to help them out because of how wonderful and kind they are. |Oh, and they have an in house library with many books written by locals, and previous guests. If ever you write a book after you stay there, let them know, it seems they are keen to have that kind of thing. |The inn itself is not far from town, but far enough to have quite and provide a nice walk. Also close enough to some of the beaches and the couple know a lot of good vacationing things to do there and places to eat. |Do note the times that the reseraunts are open. With almost all of them you will need a reservation. |So, 5/5, 10/10.

Had an absolutely wonderful stay at Kangaroo House! The hot tub and proximity to the airport were two big selling points for me. I flew in via Kenmore Air to Eastsound Airport from Boeing Field. Easy walk over from the airport and you can walk into town. No vehicle necessary for this island getaway. The room was wonderful and the complimentary breakfast was seriously out of this world! A couple cute hummingbirds joined me for my meal. I’ll definitely be back and with more friends in tow next time. 😄

We have stayed in B&B's all over the world, and this place is as good as any. Just read the other reviews, which I concur with. Lots of space, fine hot tub, comfortable bed, etc. The best part was breakfast, which was very original and plentiful. This also included excellent conversations with other guests and our hosts. Breakfasts, in our case, lasted between 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

From the moment we stepped into this comfortable craftsman style home, we were relaxed and greated by the most charming and interesting hosts! Charles and Jill have lovingly applied their own touches through the food they serve and attention to details in the rooms and information about the island. We discovered similar interests that allowed us to visit a perma culture nursery on the island that we would not have known about otherwise. Their jacuzzi under the stars afforded us relaxation and the beds were perfect for a good night's sleep. With Jill's baking skills and Charles' culinary talents, breakfasts were an anticipated event. We never left hungry! Location is perfect if you're wanting to explore the whole island. We were in the Flicker Room. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We had such a fabulous weekend at Kangaroo House and thoroughly enjoyed our experience with the property and the marvelous owners Jill & Charles. The breakfasts exceeded our every expectation with a surprise each morning of our stay. Charles and Jill made note of my special request for early morning coffee and as a B&B newbie I loved the difference from staying in hotels. The property is a 1907 Craftsman style with a little library and a huge yard including a modern hot tub for private guest use set a ways back from the rest of the house. Nice walk into Eastsound and easy driving everyone on Orcas. Other guests were a pleasant and often interesting with their own travel stories. * Bonus: short walk/drive to an incredible sunset on the beach every evening of our trip.

We had the fortune of staying at Kangaroo House for three nights in July. I wasn’t sure what to expect since we’d never been to the Island and we don’t typically stay at B&B’s. What a treat! The house is charming and the grounds are magical. Jill and Charles were incredible hosts, they were gracious with their time and so knowledgeable about the best spots on the island. We took several of their reservations and were not disappointed. The morning breakfasts were delicious and beautiful, definitely better than a typical homemade meal. ||We stayed in the Goldfinch room which had a comfy King bed and a large bathroom. Though the room was right off the stairs it was quiet and we hardly heard the other guests. You will hear the birds in the morning and an occasional plane departure, but coming from a city, this wasn’t a problem for us. ||The B&B is one mile to downtown East Sound and it’s an easy 20 minute walk or 4 minute drive. There is parking onsite which made it very easy to come and go. If you’re looking for a comfortable home base for your trip to Orcas, I would not hesitate to book here and book early! THANK YOU JILL AND CHARLES!!

Breakfast is delicious! The room was clean and organized. We enjoyed the hot tub in the evening after hiking all day. Charles and Jill were both very helpful with helping us find good restaurants, fun things to do, and really really knew the area well. I have to mention again that the breakfasts were phenomenal!
