Kainan Sa Kanto on Del Amo Blvd. in Lakewood is a hidden gem serving up delicious Filipino fare that will remind you of your Lola's or Ate's cooking.

The star of the show here is definitely the lechon. The crispy skin gives way to perfectly tender meat, making it an absolute must-try. Every bite is a flavor explosion!

They have a great selection of other dishes too. The pancit was another favorite, with a savory and satisfying taste. The chicken adobo was classically delicious, and the bbq skewers offered a delightful sweet and salty balance.

For the more adventurous eaters, I recommend trying the cow tripe with peanut sauce kari kari. It was surprisingly tasty and well-prepared.

No Filipino meal is complete without dessert, and Kainan Sa Kanto doesn't disappoint. Their turon, those amazing sweet egg rolls filled with plantains, are simply divine. And to cool off after a satisfying meal, their halo halo is the perfect way to end your visit.

Overall, Kainan Sa Kanto is a fantastic restaurant that offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere along with incredible homemade Filipino food. I highly recommend checking it out!

A solid Filipino restaurant with a great selection of authentic Philippine dishes that’s ready to serve.

I ordered their fried pork, beef tocino, fried bangus, adobo pork, bbq chicken skewers & bistek. Overall it was a good lunch especially with the garlic rice. Solid customer service & a spot to visit for Filipino food.

I’d definitely come back again to try their other menu items.

We ordered the chicken adobo, beef steak and onion, chicken empanada, another beef or maybe goat that kinda tasted like birria, and sausage. FLAVOR! It was a little oily but besides that it tasted wonderful! The garlic rice is really good too and customer service was amazing!

This an amazing establishment with many hardworking people churning out and amazing amount of freshly prepared Filipino foods that all taste and look delicious. I like the BBQ pork or chicken on a stick. Mungo is delish on garlic rice. Egg rolls are delicious. Turon is some of the best ever. Many fresh baked goods are available as well. I love this little place

Don't be scared off by the location in the corner spot of a small strip mall and unassuming interior.
Selection of canned goods, frozen goods and desserts, variety of Filipino desserts. Also large selection of their prepared foods.
I had tocino and 2 large sticks of pork bbq
My Filipina wife had Bangus and young jack fruit prepared with coconut milk.
We have fridge in our hotel room so we also got a small container of squash and green bean veggie mix. We also got a bag of Pan de Coco (bun with chocolate inside).
All food we tried was so Lami/Masarap.
We have been touring Canada and USA for 5+ weeks and were both missing Filipino food. KAINAN SA KANTO is a must try if you are living or visiting the Long Beach California area.
While we were there 3 separate Filipina locals came and also got large orders - that is a good sign.
The man who took our order was so friendly and he had 3 hard working people cooking behind him. He wished us a good rest of our holiday and hoped we would return next time in LA/Long Beach - we will for sure.
Highly recommend this food and the portions are so big we each took out half of our order. The biggest problem is so many tasty choices to pick from!!

Well, I’m not sure why she gave me burnt turon. It tastes burnt and was overcooked! Burned sugar is not pleasant tasting at all. The ones on top looked way better, so she purposefully gave me a burned one from the bottom of the pile. 🙄 My bread was burned and over cooked too. 🤦‍♀️

Haven’t tried the food yet but surprised at how expensive it is. A 2 item combo, one relleno bangus, 2 empanada, a small Laing, and a small mechado was just under $70.

The server wasn’t very friendly. The food was good? But the restaurant was hard to get too.
