Our 2 day trip to Jumping Salmon was even better than I had hoped for. The lodge itself sits on a beautiful island surrounded by the best views I've seen in Alaska. Taking it in from above and then arriving at the property was an "Ahhh" moment. You can't help but relax and feel one with nature while there! The rooms were nicely appointed in a rustic, Alaskan way. Very comfortable! The main lodge was lovely and I spent time there enjoying breathtaking scenery and wildlife from the huge picture windows. Our fishing excursion was incredible too. My group of 6 came back with more halibut, rock fish, black bass and yellow eye than we could have imagined. So excited to have my own fresh caught fish to cook at home now! Our guide/host made sure we were well taken care of. The staff was wonderful, meals and pre-dinner hors d'oeuvres delicious and we all left with memories we'll cherish forever!

I recently spent two days fishing and two nights at this lodge. My accommodations were very nice and well furnished. The view from my cottage was outstanding. My meals were very enjoyable and the dining and communal area of the lodge was very nice, comfortable and very Alaskan. All of it over looking the water. I saw seals and Bald Eagles from the dining room. ||My fishing experience was good as well. On the first day I caught my limit of Halibut and also a few varieties of Rockfish. The second day, half my limit of Halibut, some Rockfish, Black Sea Bass and a couple of Arrowhead Flounder which we released. While fishing I saw whales on a few occasions plus Sea Lions and a very cool species of Dolphin I've not seen before. I really like this place and look forward to returning for a little longer visit.

If you are looking for a great place to stay while you do some serious Alaska fishing you need to check out the Jumping Salmon Lodge (JSL) on Evans Island on the Chenega Bay, Alaska. Absolutely great accommodations, food and service from a staff who’s only goal is to provide you with a wonderful place to relax and recover after a great day of fishing or other Alaska adventure.||||Our group called JSL home for 3 days and 2 nights without any disappointments in August of 2015. After great days of fishing some chose to sip cold beverages on the deck while others kayaked in the bay and hiked on the beautiful island and snacked on wild blueberries. We are looking forward to returning to JSL next year and can’t wait to see how big the JSL puppy Nellie gets, not to mention reuniting with the great staff.

Stellar spot for relaxing with family after days of fishing and sightseeing. Cozy cabins. Attentive staff. One of the most beautiful spots in the sound. Every time I've been here I've seen black bears across the bay, sea lions searching for fish, and lots of other great wildlife. Blueberry picking among the tundra and bonsai looking trees is surreal. The name holds true, the pinks are jumping out of the water constantly! The silver fishing nearby was the best ever. Can't say enough about this place and the surrounding area of the Sound.

We'll be back at our first opportunity! Even though the lodge was closed for the season, Lori, one of the owners, was kind enough to open up for us......and all of this work just so we might have a single night, Suzy and I are 67 and 73....Me....a cabinetmaker and general contractor for near 50 years and Suzy spent her career in the hospitality industry. All sense of the glitz and grandeur of our previous lives work slipped away the moment toes hit the dock. The God created paradise cove was a luscious treat just in itself. One could soak it all in for hours with no memory of our "other world" creeping in.......HEAVEN !! Even though the Lodge had just been closed for the season, Lori, alone, cranked it all up....generator, water system, the boiler, fresh linens and towels. And then.......just a short time later a five star meal was laid out for us. As we all dined together on the deck overlooking the bay watching the sun dip slightly below the mountain tops the full glory of Jumping Salmon Lodge became so clear. It wasn't just the very special location, the great weather, the art funky elegance of the rooms and buildings, nor the lovingly crafted great lodge and dining room. Good craftsmanship, mechanics and engineering is surly the foundation, but it's clearly the owners and caretakers that raise this special and unique lodge to a stellar experience. Though we only met Lori on our trip, based on everything we experienced the rest of the staff surely deserve cudos for their coordinated efforts in bringing this old girl back to life for yet another generation to enjoy. Thank you Lori......and all for a most wonderful stay.||Russ and Suzy, Hansville, WA

I stayed here in July 2015 and highly recommend this establishment to anyone visiting the area. The lodge has recently been renovated, beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable and relaxing. They have everything you need - views are phenomenal, food is to die for, service above the rest - this stay truly exceeded my expectations. They provide fish cleaning and packing services and packed our lunch for the day fishing trip with sandwiches and of course - smoked salmon. The staff and service, I cannot say enough good things about. ||||Interesting trivia, the lodge was named Jumping Salmon by viewing jumping salmon from the big bay window of the dining area. :-)||||I cannot wait for my next visit to JSL!

July 2015 was my third annual trip to Evans island and Jumping Salmon Lodge. ||||The investment and improvements over the last three years must be seen to be believed. ||||The main building is beautifully furnished with dark leather couches, heavy log tables chairs and benches, solid oak coffee tables and a simple but beautiful european stone fireplace. ||If you close you eyes you can imagine Ernest Hemingway and John Muir enjoying a snifter of brandy while discussing the days adventure. (well, I can)||seriously, it's THAT nice. ||It smells of rich mahogany and leather bound books.||On a rainy day (or any day) the view of Sawmill bay through those huge windows with a warm fireplace and a good book, in this room, is almost as good as a day fishing.||||There is a full commercial kitchen, the menu is prix fixe and changes daily. ||They served fresh lingcod one night and it may have been THE best fish i have ever had. ||The ingredients are fresh and surprisingly high quality, many organic. (on an island - in the middle of nowhere, wow)||I expected fresh organic fish but organic milk and fruit? wow!|| ||Every "cabin" at JSL is either new construction or completely remodeled and they are very, very well done, each has a theme and the attention to detail is flawless. ||Each has a full bathroom (yes, hot showers), coffee makers and memory foam mattresses. ||||There is a cool little fish house with it's custom built stainless steel cleaning tables, very convenient after a long day on the ocean. ||I clean my own fish but if you aren't into cleaning your own catch, they will fillet, vacuum pack and freeze your catch. (at midnight after 6-8 hours of fishing, that might be pretty cool)||||The staff is amazing, they did everything, they will process & package your catch. they feed you and take very good care of you. ||||The flight from Anchorage is only 40 minutes and the scenery alone is worth the price. ||||When my wife finds out how I've been "roughing it" up in Prince William Sound she's going to start booking her own vacations here. ||||I am already looking forward to next years trip.

What a great experience. Like staying at a 5 Star hotel in the middle of Alaska's wilderness.||||We saw whales, caught fish, enjoyed the sunshine, enjoyed a delicious breakfast, ate our own catch for supper, and had all our fish filleted, bagged, vacuum packed, and frozen for take-home.||||This lodge is the best on Prince William Sound! I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun family or group experience.||||Dave
