I'm afraid I wasn't a fan. I've only been here this one time while traveling. I am a big fan of dolsat bibimbap and order it whenever I can. Unfortunately the one I had tonight wasn't that great. First of all, he came to the table with the pot that was apparently not very hot. I could hear the rice sizzling very little. It never did develop a golden brown crust on the bottom, which is kind of the point. There was very little meat in the dish, and what meat there was was hard and still a little cold from coming out of the refrigerator. Overall, the dish didn't seem to have much seasoning and was very bland.

I was surprised at how quickly my food came out, and I guess I can appreciate how quick the service was. But I would have gladly waited a little longer if there had been more attention paid to the preparation.

I really appreciate little mom and pop restaurants and had high hopes for this place. The other guests eating at the same time appeared to be enjoying themselves.

It's hard to find good Korean food on this side of the mountains but Joy Garden is the real deal! The lunch specials are a great deal - I had the Pork Bulgogi, it was so good and a big portion. Great banchan (side dishes) too! The kimchi was fresh and spicy. Quick and friendly service. Definitely will visit again when I'm in the area!

Walk in to a well-lit interior, open layout, clean interior, and Korean music with menu right up front with photos of what you can order. I really loved the panchan (side dishes) and the galbi.

Food hit the spot. Ask for their iced tea (sweetened/unsweetened). I ordered unsweetened but some might prefer more sweet for a friendlier pallete. The overall 4.7 star review is very well deserved and holds true.

Don’t be afraid to venture out and get their recommendation. I would try their tteokboki or yuk gae jang next time.

Also, I think it’s a good spot because a few older people go here. I think they know where the good comfort food is at 😆

Very glad I stopped by here!

I ordered the cheese tteokbokki which is a huge portion size. I was wondering why it was so expensive but once I received the dish I understood why. Definitely recommend. It was so good. It’s enough to feed 3 people.

Great spot the service and food was very fast to us and tasted great! We loved the Braised Potatoes and Macaroni salad they brought out as appetizers. The Beef Bulgogi was our favorite with the chicken not as sweet but still very good.

Super friendly and attentive service. Huge portion for a veggie yakisoba that cost $14.95 USD. The bathroom was clean. I like the kimchi and tofu that comes with the meal. After tax and tip I paid right around $21 USD for soda and Veggie yakisoba. I might come here again during my Yakima vacation.

Asian food in a smaller town isn't always good, but this one is. Very authentic. Nice servers, large portions enough for 2 meals, and affordable prices. Unique side dishes that I've never had anywhere else, even though I've been to and worked at Korean restaurants in greater Seattle and some other big cities.
