Such a gorgeous B&B! Well looked after and beautifully restored with so many thoughtful finishes. I spent an evening at the JD Hyde for a friend’s birthday. We enjoyed cocktail hour in the living room and spent the evening around the fire pit in the beautiful garden. The team behind this hotel puts so much care towards their guests. What an incredible place! Staying here was definitely the best decision I ever made. I was a little concerned about having to stay in a B&B. Because of the privacy, and having to share the common space with strangers. BUT actually it didn’t feel to overwhelming. I had so much privacy during my all stay. It was actually super fun to do cocktail hour and meet other/new people. The staff was incredible, nice, super flexible and very aware of guests space and privacy.
Thank you for allowing me stay in this incredible, historical and dreamy hotel. Definitely recommend. I will definitely want to come back!!

Talk about an experience! As soon as you drive up to this historic house, you feel like you’re immersed in another era.
I was looking for a relaxing birthday destination close to the Sequoias and this inn was more than I expected.
I was greeted by the innkeepers, they were really friendly and showed us around the property. Each room has its own unique design and are well kept. It’s incredible to see how different design elements mesh so well together.
My guests and I were walking distance from some tasty dinner options as well as breweries.
If you’re looking for a cozy, intimate experience, I’d definitely check it out!

I stopped for the night at JD Hyde Historical Inn and what a lovely experience! In an instant, I went back in time to antique luxury. Hard wood floors and staircases, soft, classical music wafting between the library, the drawing room, the formal dining room and up the stairs to beautiful suites enhance the atmosphere of authenticity combined with all of the comforts of home. I was greeted at the door by a friendly hostess, given a tour and then shown to my comfortable, cozy, antique room. Before a good night’s sleep, I was surprised to experience ample water flow from an oversized shower head, which may be the best little secret in this place!
Other discoveries: between a cocktail hour in the drawing room not long after I arrived to fresh coffee, pasties and freshly squeezed orange juice in the morning, it’s hard to say what I liked best. I will decide on my next visit when I can spend more time relaxing in luxury. This place is a great find! I will be back.

We are Visalia locals looking for a staycation experience and the JD Hyde Historic Inn did not disappoint! It's a beautiful Inn with the friendliest hostess. First thing, we enjoyed our tour of the home and then settling into our room "The Richard Lawrence Room"...king size four post bed, beautiful wardrobe, all surrounded by beautiful art and photographs of the time period. Even the bathroom was adorable with its antique toilet and claw foot tub. We enjoyed the other features also - cocktail hour in the drawing room sipping on champagne and listening to the beautiful music, the breakfast of coffee and pastries in the morning, and sitting by the firepit enjoying conversation after dark. The whole experience was just what we needed. We definitely plan to go back!

Traveled to the Sequoia’s and stayed at this stunning Inn that truly takes you back in time with the grand rooms and rich history of the late 1800’s. The service was exceptional and I felt comfortable as if I was in my own home. I will absolutely return on my next visit up. Thank you for the warm welcome and special experience.

Such a magical, nourishing experience. Thank you Dezirae and Greg ! From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and cared for.
Great space for socializing in the library and drawing room. The rooms are a marvel, such attention to detail. The bed was extremely comfortable and I had a great sleep. Prefect after spending the day in Sequoia National Park.

We had the absolute perfect visit. We came to visit Sequoia National Park and stayed here. It was exceptional! We used the spa after hiking and had cocktails at the firepit before walking to dinner in town. Everything was super easy and the house managers, Dezirae and Greg, were super accommodating and surprised us with an amazing cocktail! The beds were so comfortable and everything worked perfectly. This place is filled with character and charm. It’s an experience and was icing on the top of a fabulous weekend getaway from Los Angeles.
