Everything we wanted in a hotel! Comfortable room, clean and fresh. Quiet even though it was the weekend. Morning breakfast had a nice selection. We did hike on the hiking trail behind the hotel, again quiet! Wonderful Irish touches throughout the hotel. Gift shop with many nice items. We did not take advantage of the shuttle to downtown but did see a driver always available. We will stay again when in the area.

My 4 friends and I spent 3 nights at the Irish Inn in April. We reserved the 2 room suite and were very comfortable.|The weather allowed us to enjoy the outdoor trail and patios. |The breakfast buffet featured many options. The 24/7 coffee and afternoon tea were quite pleasant.|Remember to request ‘full maid service’ if you want your room cleaned and towels replaced.

First visit, and a very nice place. The location is excellent and they feature a shuttle to downtown Galena so you don't have to concern yourself with parking. The room was very clean and the bed was firm and comfortable. The breakfast that comes with the room is buffet style and delicious. The next time we stay here we'll have to take advantage of the onsite spa.

In town from the city for a family reunion. We booked a suite and were thrilled with the amount of space and amenities: microwave, coffee maker, wet bar, refrigerator, two large TVs, and we especially appreciated the huge, jetted tub. The staff were friendly and helpful and gave our group good recommendations on what we should see while in town. The hotel also has a hiking path behind it which made for a great early morning activity before the group gathered to head downtown.||The hotel is great, but what prompted me to write this review was the experience we had at the on-site restaurant Frank O'Dowd's. Someone else from our party arranged a family-style dinner, which allowed us to sample a good cross-section of the menu. We started with the charcuterie board, which was a great selection of cheeses and sausages, including blood sausage which I’ve never tried before. Next was the apple/spinach salad, which was a beautiful presentation with the contents wrapped together in a cucumber “bowl” (very tasty in addition to the great presentation). We then shared the whisky-glazed salmon, the shepherd’s pie, and the fish and chips. All outstanding. The fish and chips deserve a special callout, as I don’t think I’ve ever had a better version. The batter was crispy and light, and the fish was so tender. If you like fish and chips, this is a must-try. Dinner was the highlight of the whole trip—I can’t recommend it enough!

What a lovely experience! From the time we walked in the door and were greeted by the friendly hotel manager....we felt welcomed and all of our needs met beautifully. The hotel has so many quaint Irish touches and our only regret was having to depart before the Irish dancers performed on Saturday night. The rooms are attractively appointed....loved the fireplace in the room; it provided a cozy atmosphere. The beds were so very comfortable and the rooms extremely quiet. The restaurant was excellent...we especially loved the fish and chips and shepard's pie....but honestly, everything was delicious . The location is close to everything and the staff couldn't have been nicer. We cannot wait to return!

Great service,beautiful room and amazing food. Hot tub in the room worked good. The water was hot. The room was nice and clean. The workers were very friendly and super helpful. And there was plenty of pamphlets around to help find stuff to do in the area

Inn was clean. Wish it had a higher toilet for us old folks. The original staff was efficient but not terribly hospitable. Later staff much better. I was not happy to find out just before checkout that there is a amenities fee (for the included breakfast, shuttle service, afternoon tea, and 24 hour coffee area}. Also another refundable fee that supposedly will be put back on my charge card since I didn't charge anything to our room, i.e. food from the restaurant etc.

Such a cute place! Breakfast was complimentary and great! Quaint hotel, great location! Close to Chestnut Mountain and downtown Galena. They provide a complimentary shuttle too! We will be back and we will definitely stay here. We feel like we are back in Ireland.
