LORENZO was so welcoming and wonderful when I called to maaaayyyybe get a room for a day night, short weekend stay— and by the time we were done chatting I was definitely coming. I am only a few nights from my Titanium status and even with two weddings at the Inn at almost full capacity, I was still upgraded to a junior suite just one long staircase up from the courtyard and fire pit area, and the lovely cafe that makes a killer latte and THE BEST CUSTOMIZABLE (just ask) VEGAN BURRITO. Me, “no asparagus, add tomato, add avocado, extra vegan cheez— they use JUST EGG which is yuuuuummmmy. |TYLER in guest relations and at the reception desk went out of his way when he brought us a couple of water bottles. Brought mission signature cookies and even two mini bottles of champagne as we were there celebrating an anniversary. He gave our weekend the biggest smile of all. COREEN made sure the fire pit we were hanging at was turned on and the chill on the morning had a friend. And every valet guy is a dreeeeaaammmm!|If the hot tub was more hot than warm, it would have been a PERCECT experience. And the tomato soup at the restaurant is insanely good. It had to be because it takes a while to get your food there as they are doing room service at same time, but if your more patient than I am, you may not even notice because San Juan Capistrano has a great vibe. MISSION IS NEXT DOOR AND A MUST DO/ SEE. Great town. Walk it. Stay here!!!

I just celebrated a milestone birthday at the Inn with my family and had the most delightful time thanks to the super hospitable, friendly, and thoughtful team of staff at the hotel. The managers and staff I interacted with -- especially Lorenzo, Taylor, Bahar, and Connor -- took care of me and my family with attention, generosity and kindness beyond anything I experienced elsewhere. They are simply the best! The hotel itself is amazing, too. The grounds are beautiful, the food and drinks at Ysidora and the Cafe are excellent, the Spa is top-notch, and it's located perfectly (right next to the Mission right in the heart of the town). Thank you for making my special day unforgettable!

This is an average Marriot. Rooms are fine, main lobby is fine, bar is fine. The reason for the one star, as others have mentioned, is that after check-in they tell you that they are going to charge you an unadvertised $40 resort fee per room per day (in our case 2 rooms so $80/day) that they then try to justify by saying you can use it as a credit against their incredibly overpriced food and drinks. Also, they only allow valet parking at $55/day (no self parking option) - they actually gate off a huge, mostly empty lot behind the hotel and force the valet parking. Street parking in the area is minimal so they can hold you hostage for this. If they advertised the true cost of the room (+$95/day) I wouldn't have a problem - I can then decide if I want to stay at that price or not - its the fact that they advertise a lower price then force the extra fees on you when you arrive that is not acceptable.

I’m extremely saddened and disappointed with the management of Inn at the Mission. Their lack of integrity and customer service is appalling. I would strongly caution anyone against supporting a business that prioritizes a falsely claimed policy over basic decency. A gift card was purchased for a local nonprofit, but when it was unfortunately lost, the hotel refused to honor it—even though their system confirmed it had not been redeemed. We were able to show proof of purchase, all receipts , and that included the gift card number. During an in person visit a front desk staff member (who contrary to their manager attempted to be of help) was able to bring up the giftcard on their system, verifying it was purchased and not used. So managements claim of being unable to verify the giftcard balance was a blatant lie. I honestly wonder how some of these people sleep knowing they are essentially taking money from a nonprofit that serves cancer patients! We have so many incredible and beautiful hotels in our community that value doing the right thing, I would rather give my business to those businesses.

This was money given in good faith to support a charitable cause, yet the hotel leadership had no issue effectively stealing it without any attempt at compromise. We have given this hotel business multiple times and been great customers to this local hotel. It is unfortunate that their moral compass is lacking. Given the opportunity to do the right thing, they have chosen not to. Extremely sad circumstances to reveal a morally bankrupt management team.

Hosting our wedding here was a dream come true. I am so thankful for Bahar M. & Laura H. for assisting me in creating the most perfect wedding day ever. I had a million+ questions and details to review, and both Laura & Bahar were available and more than happy to assist. I felt so taken care of from my quick wedding (8-week) turn around, to the wedding day, to our mini-moon vacation post wedding. We can't wait to celebrate our anniversaries with this team! We're so happy we created some of our most special memories at the Inn at the Mission, SJC.

We book our rooms and 2 days before leaving we get an email that access in and out of hotel will be limited for a Swallows Parade? Wtf? No spa on Saturday either. And I still have to pay for off-site parking and resort fee? I'm done with this place. Going to trash my Bonvoy card too. Goodbye Marriott

Valet only- make sure you’re prepared with cash to tip for everything. Service was above and beyond, hotel was gorgeous, restaurant/bar was 5 stars. Room service food did seem a level below the restaurant food. The shower was poorly designed and therefore leaked excessive amounts of water on the floor and caused a big mess every time we showered- that was surprising after the money that was spent on the room. I mentioned this to the staff at the front desk and no discount was issued for the inconvenience and safety hazard. I feel petty including this detail but I truly believe that if you’re going to charge a premium then you need to provide facilities that are better designed for safety and comfort, or make up for it in some way. I still gave a 5 star review because the service was above and beyond and the entire hotel grounds were cared for impeccably. Shoutout to the bartender Shanna for being the best bar tender ever!!!! Another shoutout to the Front desk staff Natalie who exemplified such thoughtfulness and care by surprising us with a special birthday treat delivered to our room!

It’s a nice place for a break, and the stay was pleasant overall. However, the food at the restaurant was disappointing. Both my husband and daughter experienced stomach upset after eating there. We were offered an upgrade at the front desk, but the room we received was the same as the one we had originally booked. Additionally, there were no nightlights provided, so be prepared for complete darkness at night.
