We had a pleasant stay at the inn - the room was spacious, and had a bit of a strange smell but didn’t bother us too much! Bed was comfortable, and the electric fireplace/heater was really nice! The staff was super friendly, and made sure we had a lovely stay! We could hear footsteps from the roof deck, but only in the morning! We had a patio deck with a view of the ocean, and it was absolutely stunning. We really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and evening desert, pie with ice cream! The pecan pie was delicious and the ice cream to partner with it was a cherry on top! Will definitely be back for a longer stay!

The staff and location is worth 5 stars! It has been a few years since I've stayed here but used to come twice a year. Unfortunately there are very noticeable differences. The rooms need to be updated. The beds are not comfortable at all. By the second morning our backs hurt so bad. The bedding was very thin and it felt like a curtain. Also, whoever stayed above us seemed to never stop walking around (and you heard ever step loudly!) As well as every time they used the restroom. The bikes are not as cool as the old ones but still fun to take out! If you have stayed here with the previous owner and expect the same quality of stay you will be disappointed as well. For $500+ a night it is not worth it at all.

We spent a week here & thoroughly enjoyed this place. Kind of a "funky", neat beach town, the Inn has Nicely appointed rooms and a very nice staff eager to make the stay comfortable. The roof deck opens for breakfast at 0730, yes, limited menu but included in your stay and you'll love the beach view. Don't forget to take binoculars (like I did...) to scan the bay for sea life frolicking by. Loved the free pie & ice cream in the evening (but I did gain a few pounds ... darn it). Leave your beach chairs & umbrella at home, bike too - they have them for you. Older hotel, not a "resort" but they sure make you feel like it. Wifey talked me into going on a vacation (seldom go). Go here, unplug for a few days. Reasonable cost, unbeatable destination for butts in the sand with books.

We had such a great time at the Inn at Avila Beach that we extended our stay an additional night. We splurged and got the Avila Experience (ocean front) room. Stayed 4 nights. Friendly staff greeted us when we arrived, gave us a quick tour of the quaint Spanish style inn and pointed out our room so we could find it easily. Room was classy, beachy, beautiful and spacious. Very comfortable bed, gorgeous bathroom with walk-in shower and double glass slider doors with screens. The day bed on the balcony was fantastic - we spent lots of time there relaxing and listening to the ocean. The included breakfast and evening fresh baked pies alone were worth the stay! Best "hotel" breakfast - scones and croissants, coffee, espresso drinks, chai lattes and egg casseroles - all fresh and delicious with quick and friendly service. They have all the beach stuff you need at no additional cost: beach towels, chairs, some toys and even bikes. Our ONLY complaint is that we stayed on the top floor just under the rooftop breakfast/seating area. If you are an early riser, there is no problem. If you like to sleep in past 7:00 am, the noise from chairs being moved back and forth, kids running around and the occasional loud thump will likely wake you up each morning. We will request a 2nd floor room next time as we were on an R&R vacation and wanted to sleep in. All things considered, this inn is a good value and a pleasant stay.

Inn at Avila Beach is a very cute clean place to stay. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful! I booked a room facing the beach and the view was spectacular! The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and well stocked. We had breakfast up in the roof area with a great view and it was a very pleasant experience. It was self-service but there were attendants for serving coffee and breakfast items. They were friendly and helpful. There is also a kind of lobby room where you can sit and have coffee and homemade delicious pies all on the house!! I would definitely go back to stay at this wonderful Inn.

I really enjoyed my stay. The bathroom was beautiful, the bed was comfortable. It was quiet except for the relaxing ocean waves. I enjoyed the free pie, ice cream and delicious breakfast!!

Inn at Avila Beach was the perfect location. This was our first trip to Avila and we will definitely be back. We had breakfast on the rooftop every morning and the service was excellent. Every staff member we encountered were nice and kid friendly. Walking distance to everything you need and if not, things are a short drive away. We had a great experience!

We had a wonderful stay at the Inn at Avila Beach for our anniversary. The location could not be better in Avila, right across the street from the beach with great views. We kept the sliding glass door partly open to enjoy the sound of the waves at night. The room was nice with a comfortable bed. It's a quaint, old hotel with a lot of history, yet also with some modern amenities. The staff were friendly and helpful. The inn is located right on Front Street, allowing us to easily walk everywhere. The first floor is a convenient parking garage. Access to the rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors is only by stairs. The breakfast on the rooftop was great. The breakfast staff was fantastic. Pie in the evenings were a nice touch. We appreciated the free access to beach chairs, an umbrella, and other beach equipment. We look forward to staying again in the future.
