I had a terrible experience at Hotel Indigo. Upon arrival, I never received the entry code needed to access the property, leaving me stuck outside in 15-degree weather, circling and waiting for assistance. When I called, I was told I had to wait for the owner to reach out. Eventually, a random number texted me a code, which felt extremely unsafe.

Once inside, the hotel had a strong, unpleasant odor and looked unsafe and poorly maintained. I immediately texted back to report the issues and let them know I was canceling and leaving. There was no staff on-site, no front desk, and no real support.

This was an incredibly frustrating and unprofessional experience. I do not recommend staying here.

If you have a pet. Avoid this Hotel.

We stayed here about a month ago on an Airbnb booking. We booked a pet friendly unit.
I’m a service disable Marine Corps veteran, and I don’t travel anywhere without my service animal.

We even called ahead of time to ensure we could bring my service animal in. We have the receipts (obviously we are not going to post them here because it has personal information).

Unbeknownst to us, we were put in a non dog friendly unit. We arrived very early in the morning because we had been driving. Stayed for about 5-6 hours and checked out.

The hotel decided they were going to accuse us of having an unauthorized animal in a non-pet friendly room and began a series of weekly harassment over a cleaning fee that we refuse to pay. Over a couple pieces of kibble and a tuft of dog fur (what the hotel offered as proof that we had an “unauthorized animal” like we were trying to sneak my service dog in or something. Not even as proof that we left the room messy (which we didn’t, unless you consider a couple pieces of kibble and a little bit of dog fur a mess that should cost you $40)

We arbitrated with Airbnb and provided very clear screenshots of our party including 1 dog.

This hotel continues to harass us. Our position is clear.

1. We correctly included my service dog in our original registration. We’re not idiots and your hotel is not special. I was a homeless veteran. I would have just as easily slept in the car with my dog rather than sneak him in somewhere he’s not wanted.

2. It’s the hotel’s responsibility to ensure we are put in the right room. If we request a dog friendly room and the hotel gives you the keys to a room that they’ve decided is not dog friendly, and then they don’t tell you….I'm sorry, was the customer supposed to psychically know? Ms.Cleo is rolling in her grave. We understand the idea that you can’t take a dog into a non dog friendly room because you have to clean it more for guests who might have allergenic responses to animal dander or fur.

3. If you’re a hotel management, and you make a mistake. Own it. Before all this happened. We were actually really sad that we couldn’t stay longer. The hotel has a fun retro aesthetic that is well thought out.

After this experience, they didn’t just loose our continued business. But they’ve lost the business of both our families, they’ve lost the business of our dog friends, they’ve lost the business of our veteran community group, and honestly if you’ve read this and you have a pet. They should loose your business as well. Just as the hotel is making a case that we acted in violation of their trust. We have the same impression. We don’t trust the competency of this hotel’s booking staff and we don’t trust the hotel’s ability to arbitrate issues in an evidence based manner. More and more it reads as predatory behavior. As if they could just harass us into complying by taking negative action against us. And mind you it’s been almost a month and we are still receiving requests for payment. Even after we arbitrated with Airbnb and were informed by Airbnb that there was nothing further for us to do.

This will probably go down as one of the most disappointing hotel stays of our lives and we’re both in our 30’s.

And if they respond with a passive aggressive blurb about how we were some conniving party of dog sneakers in an attempt to discredit our review. Then we would just remind you that Airbnb keeps a track of all registration requests and as clear as day our party request stated we were two adults and one dog. Airbnb will also verify that our booking was for a pet friendly room.

We unequivocally refuse to pay for the mistakes of your booking team.

This company and "management" is very unprofessional. There is NO one to talk to or call with any concerns. All their emails have come across as cryptic and I was concerned for a while that the company/hotel was a scam. They responded to my concerns about my reservation in an untimely manner and their messages had misspellings and grammatical errors- leading one to believe the fidelity of the business. They ended up booking me 2 rooms (one of which I did not approve) and then sent me a negative email stating that they had done everything that I had asked (again the email was suspicious). I tried numerous times to call the phone number listed and it would ring twice and then go to a non-named voicemail (nothing said "Indigo Pass." I'm currently trying to get a refund for the 2 rooms that were booked. I would advise anyone to not book with this Indigo Pass company.

When we first arrived at the hotel the area around is what I would call a gray area. Me and my husband were concerned about leaving the car out of our site. As we gathered our things from the car (we had quite a bit)
We mentioned that it would be nice to have some kind of luggage cart. 🧳 we were happy to see that the building itself was very secure. As we got off the elevator, we noticed a pleasant fragrance in the hall as well as in our room. As we looked around the room we noticed that we had a mini fridge, some complimentary snacks and a coffee maker with coffe making products, no microwave, which was kind of disappointing. We did like the fact that we had a roku tv remote system so we could continue to watch our shows on vacation. The closet had ample space, but I was a little bummed that I didn't have a night stand or table on my side of the bed. The bed was very nice and had very soft sheets. The only thing I had trouble with was the air system kept kicking on at random during the night and startling me each time. The shower in the bathroom was nice but it would have been nice to have some kind of shower chair/bench. We did appreciate the binder of food places on the table. We also liked that there was a reasonably priced hair salon in building which we needed since we were in town for a wedding.

There was an event happening somewhere close so parking was tricky.( Not their fault). Once I found where the door was to enter it was very easy to get in to. I liked that it was all digital. The room was very clean and comfortable. Located in walking distance to plenty of places with food and drinks

This hotel was really cool. Super modern decor, everything was really well put together. The room was quite spacious and had plenty of seating for visitors. I was initially concerned that there was no staff onsite, but we didn’t have any issues getting in and out of the building and our room. It’s in a great location for all of the cool shops/restaurants/bars popping up in downtown Middletown. We loved being able to walk to the majority of our destinations. A few things I didn’t love. The hallway smells weird and if there are other guests in the hallway, you can hear them very well in your room. The heating system in the room made an odd chirping sound, while annoying it didn’t seem to wake me from sleep. My biggest issue was the barn door for the bathroom. It offers little to no privacy (re: sounds and smells) while using the facilities. Make sure you’re very comfortable with your roommate before you book. ;)||Overall a great little spot to stay when you visit Middletown!

This was a cool place to stay. The room was super clean, the bed was comfortable, and I loved the bohemian decor. The location in Downtown Middletown was super convenient and we could walk everywhere we had planned to go. The pass code entry made coming and going a breeze. Two cons: the sliding barn door on the bathroom left a crack when closed, so smells are going to travel and another person can see in; you can hear everything going on in other rooms and the hall. While most people were considerate and the sound wasn’t an issue (and multiple rooms were booked), the person beside us blared music and was a loud talker. Overall, this was a wonderful hotel.

This place is real real cute! Instagram heaven, my friend and I took a ton of pics. The shower is like a magazine. The people were really nice who helped us with our code, we had it wrong, and the building has other stuff like a soul food place that was delish. Pizza place down the street and a distiller with their own homemade vodka and bourbon. Can’t wait to come again!

I arrived last night with my husband for a two night stay at this hotel. The parking was in the back or side of the entrance door. First red flag…“NO OTHER PEOPLE WERE THERE TO STAY OR WORKERS” the floor was VERY STICKY as if it hadn’t been mopped EVER. It smelled like URINE when I opened the entrance door. The elevator smelled as well as if someone sprayed cologne to cover up a foul odor. WE slept in the CASINO PARKING LOT in my car because we could NOT sleep at this hotel and couldn’t check in to another hotel until 3p.m. the next day. It looked very unsafe and the feel of it was not welcoming AT ALL!!! I had to end up paying to stay somewhere else. The ceiling in my room was incomplete as well as if it was still under construction. Lesson learned….I thought the price was very reasonable but “you get what you pay for.” NEVER AGAIN!!!
