Me, my wife and father-in-law went on a birding trip recently with Amy as our guide, and it was a fantastic experience. She is exceptionally knowledgeable on all things Alaska. We saw many birds, ate salmonberry and blueberry picked right off the limb, and we're fortunate enough to see a sibling pair of brown bear. Amy is a terrific field guide!

Had an awesome experience with Amy last week! She was super knowledgeable, friendly, and an overall amazing guide. I came in with no birding experience, and frankly low expectations. Our birding tour led by Icy Strait Birding was one of the highlights of our Alaska cruise. We booked this as an independent excursion, separately from our ship, but the whole process could not have been easier. We were promptly met after disembarking by a tour van that took us to meet our guide, Hannah. Hannah's knowledge and enthusiasm for birds was amazing. She is a gifted nature educator. We learned so much about the nature and geography of the local area in addition to the birds. Hannah knew some great spots for us to birdwatch and had the patience to help us spot some amazing species. Plus we saw a bear AND a whale, so we really had an amazing day.

Extra touches we appreciated: high-quality binoculars for each of us, plus Hannah had set up a scope at several times throughout the tour to help us see wildlife that was far away.

I would not hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone who is at all interested in nature, even if they are not a particularly big birder. We really enjoyed getting to see a variety of areas off the beaten path that we never would have seen on our own, including some really scenic views and a nice walk through the forest.

Great experience with Hannah when we did a privately-booked shore excursion from our cruise ship. Hannah knew all the right places to go and we saw a fabulous range of birds, including bald eagles and hummingbirds! Her ornithological knowledge is outstanding.
