The owner of the hotel has to be the worst person I’ve ever dealt with. He doesn’t like it that you book online to get better deals every time I’ve rented at the Howard Johnson in ceres California he’s a hard person to deal with. He doesn’t like it when you booked for three days and you have pets and you pay a one time deposit he does not like that. He wants you to pay every day for a pet deposit and even if you’re booked for a week over there, he still comes knocking on the door looking for some kind of excuse I forgot my pants that had my money in it because I was being rushed out by him and his security guard I had booked for two nights and apparently only one night went through and I was reimbursed by super.com he doesn’t give you anytime to try to solve the problem now he tells me that I can no longer book at the Howard Johnson. I told him I’m never booking there ever again they overcharge double when you can get it online for half the price if you’re ever here watch out for the bald guy with glasses sometimes you’ll see him at night walking around with a hoodie and sunglasses standing by every room listening to what’s going on hopefully you can understand this. I’m a little upset with the owner right now cause it’s fresh. The maids are amazing they go above and beyond they’re too good to be working with a man like that and make sure you always get a receipt if you’re staying more than one night

The younger lady at front desk, didn’t get her name but she was very helpful and made it easy on us for a late night stay. She’s awesome! As of the rooms their not to bad clean sheets comfortable beds. The older lady working morning is not really to social or helpful.

The blow dryer in the room was broken and when I used it a piece of plastic from the broken fan inside of the blow dryer shot out and me n hit me in the face... The shower head shot off at me while I was taking a shower... The gentleman this morning was very nice and even offered to see if he could moved us to a different room because the maintenance guy called out and wasn't going to be able to fix those problems for us.. don't get me started about The breakfast, which was an absolute joke.. it was no hot breakfast.. there wasn't even a toaster let alone anything hot but the hot water container on the counter.. the lady at the front desk needs to take a class on customer service... or she probably shouldn't work in or around the public.. it definitely was not worth the money I spent for 2 night...

I recently stopped at the Howard Johnson's hotel in Ceres, California, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. We had chosen this hotel based on the advertised rate of $73 per night, but when I arrived to make a reservation for my brother for a family funeral, I was charged $110 instead. This bait-and-switch tactic is unacceptable.
The website did not allow me to add necessary details to my reservation for my brother’s stay, forcing me to book in person. Despite this inconvenience, both the clerk, Anita, and the manager insisted that the lower rate was only available for online booking, making it seem as if they were doing me a favor by offering the higher rate @ $140, reduced to $110 after complaining. Adding insult to injury, I was also denied the AAA discount that I was supposed to receive.
Such practices are unconscionable. I would advise against staying at any Howard Johnson hotel until they address and correct this misleading behavior. I hope my feedback helps others avoid a similar experience.

Very well maintained and comfortable beds breakfast is continental well stocked and the front desk was helpful and friendly room was quiet even though next to freeway
