Paso is one of our favorite places to go. Normally we would rent a house but for this special birthday occasion we could only get away for a couple nights and we've always been curious about the Cheval so booked it. What a great decision! We arrived a bit late and they had fabulous cake and champagne on ice waiting for us. As many other reviews have stated the staff go above and beyond in every way. Even if you don't need anything they are great just to have a chat with. The outdoor fireplaces are fab, we had a couple very cold nights and they were very cozy. We took advantage of the S'mores somme, Mike was great. The whole thing was magical. In sum, Cheval is worth it!

We wanted to spend a couple nights in Paso Robles and I stumbled upon this gem online. What a wonderful property. The facilities are quiet, beautifully appointed and we loved the nice breakfast included that we had in the Pony Bar. The location is great for talking walks around town. I would highly recommend!

Recently our group of four couples stayed at the Hotel Cheval and we had an amazing time. We were there for wine tasting and really enjoyed our time sitting by the fire in the evening in the courtyard. The staff treated us like royalty and we had a wonderful time. All of us will definitely come again.

Hidden gem! Beautiful courtyard & sitting outcoves throughout. They have nightly customized s'mores & a library with but only books but a candy bar too. Bedrooms are cozy, clean & filled with the necessary amenities. Breakfast at the Pony Bar are made to order. They also have custom coffees on request. The employees are wonderful & so helpful! Will come back again!

My husband and I spent two nights at Hotel Cheval, and experienced another fantastic stay here. (This was our third visit over the past 9 years.)||||The staff at Hotel Cheval should offer “customer service” classes to other hotels. Their team was superlative in taking care of us on every level. Special thanks to Jenny at the front desk whom provided a welcoming and friendly atmosphere every time we were greeted. And she also secured a restaurant reservation at “Les Petites Canailles”. And the bellmen were extra helpful in loading the six cases of wine we’re transporting back home.||||The breakfast was perfect! And again: What a great service team. We also had a light dinner one night in the Pony Bar, which we include on our next visit.||||This hotel rivals some great properties we have stayed in Paris, Bordeaux, Singapore, and Rome.||||A real treat!

Hotel Cheval is a gem! Gorgeous rooms, incredible staff, and sipping wine (or scotch) in front of the roaring fire in the courtyard fireplace was the perfect way to end the day!

Great place to stay for a romantic getaway, highly recommend especially if you want to walk in downtown Paso Robles. They have a great little courtyard with fireplaces to hangout at. The morning breakfast is one of the better hotel breakfasts I've had as well.

We arrived an hour or so early but very warm welcome and room was ready. Parking was private across the street. Steps up to room on second floor and offered help with luggage but we were happy to manage ourselves. very impressive courtyard with a huge fireplace which the rooms surround and gave the whole place a pleasant warm personal club like atmosphere.|The rooms are all identified by horse associated names and ours was excellent with a very comfortable large bed and a great bathroom area. We had the easily the best sleep of our road trip here.|We knew about the nightly smores on offer in front of the fire in the courtyard and were reminded of this by the staff as something not to miss. I had booked a local restaurant at an earlier time to give us more than enough time to get back and we were really glad we did as the smores experience was unique and excellent. It seemed to go beyond the delicious"a la carte" smores on offer toasted on the fire and was a very pleasant hour or so with a couple of drinks and friendly chat with other guests. A real occasion not to be missed.|Breakfast was in the Pony Club which is also the pleasant bar area, inside and outside spaces. You choose what you want and the staff bring it to you.|This is a special place which we will stay in our memories and we will certainly be back there if our travels take us within reach in the future.
