Such a charming and vibrant place in the heart of lovely Hood River and the Columbia River Gorge! So easy going and welcoming. The hotel offers historic charm and modern comfort. My spacious suite was very clean. The bed is very comfortable, one of the best ever actually. Inside the hotel is a lovely pub, Broder Øst, that serves great tea, coffee and food. A good surprise was the jazz concert in the lobby on Saturday night. The location of the hotel is excellent, with shops and restaurants around the corner, a Flixbus stop nearby and at walking distant from the waterfront.

With the recent chaos caused by the Trump Administrations firing of Park Rangers and other staff it is important to find lodging that can help you identify trails on local maps and Park Maps to hike around the perimeter of Mt Hood. This Hotel is staffed by local people with regional knowledge that my hiking partner and I found very useful in September, 2024 when we hiked four different mountain hikes in Mt Hood National Park and the surrounding trails on National Forest Lands. The older hotel rooms in the original building were big enough to stash all our hiking equipment and two boat size freezers with our perishable foods and drinks. Was in town bringing my touring show to a festival and very much enjoyed my stay at the Hood River Hotel. The staff was very accommodating and the rooms were incredibly charming. The hotel is located next to everything in downtown Hood River and has great access to the rest of what Hood River has to offer. Highly recommend if you truly want an experience in the Gorge!!

We had a great experience during our two nice day at Hood River hotel. The rooms are cute, clean and cozy. The lobby is super cool with a large fireplace and comfortable couches to relax on. The history of the hotel is fascinating. It's very cool to see historic photos of the hotel hanging on the walls in the lobby. The staff were helpful and pleasant. The rates are reasonable. We would definitely stay here again.

Had a great time. Friendly staff. Central and ideal location. The jazz on Saturday night was outstanding. And Broders for breakfast couldn't have been better. ||Yeah, the floors squeaked, and we did hear the person in the room above us walk across the room. But I also understand it is an old hotel. No biggie.||Will be returning.

The staff is awesome. The lobby is charming. However, the bathrooms are pretty awful and in serious need of cosmetic updating. The toilet seat was discolored/stained, as was the tub. It honestly felt dirty. I’ve stayed in historic bed and breakfasts/hotels that maintain the charm while also making the rooms/bathrooms feel really clean and worth paying for. The bedroom carpet is really drab, no headboard, chipped paint, overall disappointing room for the price.

A quaint historical holet in the middle of town with a great vibe. We were wine tasting in the area and decided to stay the night. Booked this hotel through Booking.Com. Front desk staff were warm and welcoming. Guests were friendly. Our room was clean and decorated nicely. The bed was very comfortable. Taking a shower was comical with the temperature going from normal to scalding when other guests flushed the toilet or turned on the water. Not a deal breaker and understandable given the age of the hotel. Ate breakfast the following morning at the adjacent restaurant. It was delicious. Room amenities were better than some nice chain hotels we've stayed at. Hotel is also dog friendly. We look forward to staying at the Hood River Hotel again.

Definitely funky, but in a charming way. Rooms are clean and comfortable, nice beds.
Rooms have vastly different layouts, so you never know quite what you'll get, but that's part of the charm.
Downtown Hood River is busy, and there's a fair amount of street noise in the rooms, but the hotel provides earplugs if it's too much.
Great location within an easy walk of many restaurants, bars, galleries, etc.
