This was the worst Holiday Inn stay we have experienced. First of all, the room met with a spider and another bug that my kid killed and flushed right away that i did not see it. The couch had couch had crumbs on it but when we pulled it out, we saw various food/other residues on the mattress cover which was too small to cover the twin size mattress that was stained with urine all over. We had to go second time downstairs to get linens as the closet did not have anything for the pull-out coach (1st time we went to get extra towels as bathroom had only 2 for the booked 4 people room). Both beds were impossible to sleep on as they made metal banging noise when one tries to turn from side to side (that include my 40lbs daughter). No need to say that we had terrible sleep as we had to sleep in one position to avoid any metal banging on the mattress on the bedframe.
Breakfast was a big disappointment as well though we usually love it. Apple juice tasted and looked like water. Omelet tasted like plastic. I could not have any of my coffee as I did not taste like coffee at all. I was hoping to get a Keurig cup in the room before we left, but it only had decaf. I ended up with a headache (either from bad sleep or lack of caffeine, of a combination) till i had coffee later in the day. The only reason i am giving 3 stars and not 1, is for a nice front desk staff that you have.

Now having been a nearly 25-Year World Traveler, I have received much better care, professional behavior, and meaningful customer service from other IHG hotel staff than I recently received here in the USA during my last stay at this Suffolk, VA IHG location.

During my previous stay in December 2024, I booked 5 rooms for me and my party of guest, who were visiting for a church event the next day. Sunday morning, there was no hot water supporting my hotel room prior to my checking out.

Time was of the essence and due to the lack of hot water in my room, I had to take a very cold and uncomfortable shower prior to attending a church service that Sunday morning.

In the 24 years that I've been an IHG Ambassador member, I had never experienced this situation before. Albeit, situations like this do happen from time to time at every hotel, I didn't appreciate being ignored and it is reasonable to expect some professional courtesy from the staff regarding the resolution. I asked the lady at the front desk to please inform manager about my inconvenience and to ask him or her to please add 5000 bonus points to my account for my inconvenience. If needed, please call me to discuss any detailed explanations. My contact information is in the system. No one contacted at all. Approximately 1 month later (January 2025), I called and spoke to a lady, who said that she remembered me and my party and would be happy to notify the manager of my concern and request for compensation because of my inconvenience. No one called.

Bottom line, this is unsatisfactory! I've never felt more neglected, disrespected, and unappreciated than by the IHG staff at this location.

This personal inconvenience and how it was/was not handled reflects badly on the IHG brand as a whole regarding how members and guest are treated.

We deserve better customer care and respectful resolution of issues when they occur.

We were staying here a few nights visiting family. It is in an area with a number of restaurants and stores if needed. With some restaurants being within walking distance. The room was nice and spacious with a separated sofa and TV. This let my wife take a nap and I could work or watch television. There is a nice pool and workout room on site. The pool seemed very busy and since it was just us, we decided not to try to get in. I enjoyed the free coffee that is available all the time and the breakfast was delicious. There was a wide variety of options available to eat.

The hotel is very well kept and managed. The staff is excellent. I've been coming for medical treatment for the last three years and they have really been accommodating in my hours of need due to medical challenges. I really appreciate all of them.

The staff is always friendly and kind. The faculty is well kept. The rooms, the lobby, and the grounds and all cared for well. It is quiet and one can get a good night's rest. And it is located with plenty of eateries within walking distance. I feel extremely comfortable staying here. I commend them for the way they care for the property as well as the guests.

The Holiday Inn Express was a very pleasant experience. It obviously not a 5 star resort on an island, but everything was rated in reference to the type of hotel i was staying at. I have stayed there many times and will continue to stay there. The staff was always very accommodating and friendly.

When I approached the front dest to check in there was no one there. There was someone I could hear talking on the phone , personal business. I rang the desk bell several and after about 10 minutes the cleark came out and apologized for not hearing me.

Room was ok until the next morning when I was taking a shower. No soap or shampoo in the bottles., Both empty.

Breakfast choice was good however bacon was very undercooked, raw. Not all of it but large clumps of it.

Discussed issues with front desk during checkout and they apologized for not meeting my expectations and said they hope next stay will be better.

This by far is the worse hotel. Dirty shower, wash clothes dirty 3 of mines had holes in them. The comforter are old and has no fluff to it. To top it off I’m not sure if it’s a bed bug or tick but it came out of the sofa bed. The breakfast is not a breakfast.
