Well I tried a few hotels in Berkeley and sorry I hate valet parking and I really hate paying for it. I've got tons of stuff I travel with and need to get it. Plus I don't want to wait around for someone to get my vehicle. There is ample and convenient parking here. The rooms are nice with a little fridge and microwave which makes sticking to my diet easier. The beds are comfy and enough blankets. Great water pressure in the bathroom..mind you pull that curtain all the way because you could cause a mini flood ( my bad..that was my fault..the water was hot and ready in seconds!) The staff is wonderful especially that nice young man doing afternoons. The breakfast was varied and good. There was even bacon one day which I never thought I'd see again at a hotel breakfast. We have family in the area but THEY SMOKE. We really appreciate your 100% non smoking policy. I also like the eco friendly shampoo/ conditioner/body wash in big containers on the wall so less wasteful plus enough to wash even the longest head of hair.

Yana, Grill, & Luis are some of the most helpful, friendly and considerate employees I've ever come across. The breakfast 🍳 serve was always warm & tasty! The cleaners for the Rooms were right on point! I couldn't believe how structured & in order this Holiday Inn was! I will definitely tell friends & family about this Location is. It's definitely 💯 5 star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Berkeley property was an all-around wonderful experience -- from the staff to the accommodations to the location and the food options. The room size was much larger than expected and made for a comfortable three-night stay. While the breakfast was the same every day, there were more options and the food tasted better than most similar hotel buffets. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Recommend highly.

We have and will continue to stay at the Holiday Inn Express Berkeley when visiting family. The property has almost completed upgrading its rooms and common areas which makes it an even better experience. Great front desk staff and high standard of cleanliness.

My wife and I were staying in Berkeley with family in 2025. Because someone in the family got COVID, we moved into the hotel temporarily. But then, alas, I came down with COVID. My wife, who never got it, moved back to be the family but I ended up spending eight days in the hotel. The staff was very accommodating. I did not use housekeeping because I didn't want to expose them to COVID, but they provided extra towels, etc as I needed them. I would come out masked and gloved at breakfast, grab a few things and return to my room. While I won't say it was paradise being stuck there so long, I have no complaints. The bed was comfortable, the TV and internet (aside from one 12 hour gap) was fine. The shower was GREAT!

Nice clean functional place for short stay. Big shout out for Yana who went out of way to make it comfortable including early checkin as we reached early morning after a 19 hour international flight. Will definitely stay again when visiting the town

Great hotel. I’ve had to go to Berkeley several times for family business and I always stay here. Central location, reasonable rates, free parking!, nice breakfast. Staff is very accommodating. We’ll be back. Thanks for the great stay.

We were greeted and given complimentary water. The room was spotless and relaxing. Breakfast in the mornings was a welcoming gesture and much appreciated. The welcome cookies in the evening were a happy surprise. Overall we will return.
