Great stay! The staff was super friendly. We patiently waited for the couple in front of us to get checked in (they had tons of questions) and then we were super lucky to get a complimentary upgrade! The room was beautiful, the bed comfortable. It was quiet inside the room even with it facing the main street. The bar was gorgeous. Drinks and food were delicious! Overall a fantastic experience

Literally the cutest most romantic boutique hotel. The rooms were modernized suites of a historical building that perfectly bridged both worlds of the old and new. The bed was probably one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in at a hotel and the claw foot bathtub was to die for. The lobby and bar were very stylish and the food was great. They even had a speakeasy downstairs but I can't speak on that because I was in bed before it opened! Service was great and staff were so friendly. Highly recommend for any couple looking for a special get away, and the adjacency to state parks and Tahoe are a huge bonus!

Super cute hotel. The rooms were very comfortable and remodeled with extra comfy beds. My only complaint is that there was no full-length mirror in the room and very little counter space in the bathroom for toiletries. Not a deal-breaker, just a little detail that I felt was overlooked. The restaurant and bar were fantastic and the mini bar in the room had cool/unusual options to choose from- which was a fun touch. The hotel has relatively easy parking and is a super close walk to everything you need in the area- shopping, restaurants, bars, etc. We saw a concert at the performing arts center and were so surprised to find that it was literally 2 doors down. Wonderful!

I would have to give a huge shout out to Danny and the blonde gal at the check out as well as our server! What service and what impressive polish and professionalism from all three. We travel a LOT and the friendliness, helpfulness, and polish of all three was truly impressive. We loved the ambiance of the hotel itself—the attention to detail of everything in the hotel from the pictures to the furniture to the chandeliers. What an unexpected treat! Thank you!!

This historic hotel is lovely and well-located. The staff was friendly and efficient, and my room was comfortable and kitted out with everything I needed. The restaurant and bar area is beautiful. If I am in the area again, I would definitely stay here again, and would recommend the hotel to anyone else traveling in the region. The only suggestion I have is to provide a coffee option (which could simply be access to a keurig) earlier than 7AM (I found an open coffee shop about a ten-minute walk away).

Our home for a wonderful Gold Country weekend! Our room was a perfect blend of modern comforts and historic charm. The hotel is well-situated in downtown Grass Valley and near many state parks. We were impressed by the food, drinks, and service at the Golden Gate Saloon. Everyone at the hotel was friendly and professional, especially Fiona, who helped us with some last-minute scheduling needs. Overall, a great stay!

The Holbrooke is so charming and located in the heart of Grass Valley, walking distance to shopping, restaurants and treats. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. The coffee they serve in the morning is delicious and we loved the vibe of the bar. We will definitely stay there again.

Beautifully renovated historic hotel. The lobby is gorgeous. Our room was nice too but, as with many old hotels, we heard other guests and street noise from our room which impacted our sleep. It's a very special place though and we enjoyed it. The breakfast was delicious and we loved hanging out in the lobby.
