This is not a cheap hotel, but it's got a great location and offers a lot better amenities than the alternative I had considered (a campground at Dyea, a ghost town several miles outside Skagway. Watch for bears!). Every business and museum in Skagway is within walking distance. The staff is friendly. The rooms are not air-conditioned, which can be a bit uncomfortable if the weather happens to be hot, but they do have fans, which help quite a bit. Even the shared bathrooms do not seem to experience a lot of competition for use. Guests of this hotel are offered a free breakfast each day in the on-site restaurant. The public can only get in for lunch and dinner, so it's an exclusive that does somewhat justify the hotel cost. The only catch is that there is no choice. Every guest gets the same breakfast, which is whatever the kitchen staff has decided to make that day.

We did not stay, but the food was Awesome quiet. Eing at the end of town= tourist should walk down here , glad we did. Great staff.

Our ride forgot to pick us up at the ferry terminal. The room was way, way too hot. The windows did not have bug screens. The fan turned on but did not oscillate. The outdoor dinning area was very rough gravel. Finally the price was far too high.

te rooms are very small, because the house was built ages ago, 19th century i believe, nethertheless i very much enjoyed the one night i had in Skagway. The hotel is full of charming history and they did take well care of me.....who knows, i might come back one day

It was in town so close to everything, even the grocery store was within walking distance. The included breakfast was amazing with REAL BACON! People complain about no TV in the room but why would you spend your once in a life trip in hour room, go see the beautiful things.

Didn't stay, but ate here.

The food is definitely worth the slightly higher price that you see elsewhere.

One nice touch is the use of fresh herbs grown on the property, which you'll see in some of the pictures.

The restaurant makes good use of built in benches in the windows, so there's more space than you expect, which allows you to stretch out and relax.

So even if you're out for a short excursion, ask to be dropped off in town on the way back and stop by.

Beautiful hotel with an antique vibe, and a nice restaurant. The owner/receptionist is such a nice and helpful gentleman who has apparently been running this hotel for 25 years.

The only thing is some of the rooms is quite a lot smaller than the others. The room I stayed in has hardly standing rooms for the two of us. Basically one had to stay on their bed for the other to move.

I also suggest they don’t clutter the already tiny room with antique decos - I tried not to break them but they were all over on the only two small surfaces we can put things on!

Amazing place to stay!!! The rooms are cute and clean. The restaurant, we had breakfast here and the food is made with love, you can tell. Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone who likes cool story and cool stay. 10/10
